Vitaly is over 50 years old and a sincere supporter of Vladimir Putin. He has gone through difficult times, having lost his job and home, and now lives a temporary, hopeless life on the outskirts of Novosibirsk, in Siberia. Over the course of eight years, the film captures Vitaly’s transformation from a naive patriot into a disillusioned critic of the contemporary world, where the older generations cling to the stability of the past, while young people adopt radicalized viewpoints to express their frustrations.
