Monday morning, two choreographers show up in a High School in San Sebastián, Spain. They have five days to get a classroom full of teenagers on stage and perform a dance theatre. The dance forces the teenagers to break their social roles right on the moment of their lives when they are being strengthened.

00:00:31.926 --> 00:00:34.433
Lots of people say
it's strange, yes.
00:00:34.802 --> 00:00:39.226
"What does it have to mean?
What kind of movement is that?"
00:00:47.618 --> 00:00:49.156
I'm not worried.
00:00:49.811 --> 00:00:51.831
I'm nervous about it.
00:00:51.982 --> 00:00:55.897
Because, it's always this thing,
when you start a project:
00:00:55.898 --> 00:00:58.689
How are they going to react?
00:01:06.920 --> 00:01:08.520
When we ask them to do nothing.
00:01:08.720 --> 00:01:13.240
Simply to look ahead and put
your hands beside your body.
00:01:13.840 --> 00:01:15.440
It looks like you’re doing nothing
00:01:15.640 --> 00:01:17.560
and you have the feeling
you are naked.
00:01:17.760 --> 00:01:20.680
If there are people looking at you,
even more so.
00:01:20.880 --> 00:01:22.480
What are they seeing?
00:01:22.680 --> 00:01:24.320
They’re seeing you as you are.
00:01:24.880 --> 00:01:27.720
In this society
you learn you have value
00:01:27.920 --> 00:01:29.680
when you achieve things.
00:01:30.200 --> 00:01:34.000
And what we are saying is no,
you have value for being who you are.
00:01:34.200 --> 00:01:35.600
You have value!
00:01:36.200 --> 00:01:37.760
You can be normal.
00:01:37.920 --> 00:01:39.960
Use your heart, use your body.
00:01:40.160 --> 00:01:41.480
Be whole.
00:01:41.640 --> 00:01:43.360
And you have to be whole in dance.
00:01:43.560 --> 00:01:45.840
Everybody sees who you are
when you dance.
00:02:12.611 --> 00:02:15.370
Of course, you work
in a very very short time.
00:02:15.597 --> 00:02:17.253
Five days.
00:02:18.634 --> 00:02:22.852
Five days to understand,
five days to grow.
00:02:23.286 --> 00:02:25.127
Five days to dance.
00:02:25.870 --> 00:02:28.470
In a different way
than they are used to.
00:02:29.215 --> 00:02:34.177
And then, in these five days,
they learn to understand.
00:02:34.459 --> 00:02:36.464
And they learn to discover.
00:02:37.626 --> 00:02:42.313
In five days,
the doors are opening.
00:02:43.124 --> 00:02:47.043
And when the doors open in the end,
they are able to give.
00:03:23.030 --> 00:03:24.889
I have done workshops where people
00:03:24.890 --> 00:03:28.588
who have never danced before
they just have to walk.
00:03:28.861 --> 00:03:31.503
Very consciously.
Walk.
00:03:31.812 --> 00:03:34.332
And even some people start crying
00:03:34.333 --> 00:03:37.093
because something happens
in their bodies.
00:03:40.148 --> 00:03:42.427
I don't know exactly
what's happening,
00:03:42.833 --> 00:03:44.882
but it does something with people.
00:03:45.418 --> 00:03:48.335
And also, just to be able to touch?
00:03:52.600 --> 00:03:55.000
We really don’t care
who we're looking at.
00:03:55.200 --> 00:03:59.840
We don’t care who they are,
what they do or even how they behave.
00:04:00.280 --> 00:04:03.960
The only thing we see is people
who have a body, who have a soul
00:04:04.160 --> 00:04:06.480
who have the ability
to express themselves
00:04:06.640 --> 00:04:08.520
and are beautiful when they do so.
00:04:08.760 --> 00:04:10.440
Everyone of us is beautiful.
00:04:10.640 --> 00:04:12.880
Each of us has something beautiful.
00:04:13.040 --> 00:04:16.520
When we hide it, it can't be seen,
but when we start opening it up
00:04:16.720 --> 00:04:18.240
and it comes out, it's wonderful.
00:04:18.440 --> 00:04:22.000
And what we try, through dance,
is to release that.
00:04:22.560 --> 00:04:26.640
Everyone here! Sit down for a moment!
Everyone come here! Here, sit down!
00:04:29.200 --> 00:04:32.480
OK, can you pay attention
for a moment?
00:04:32.640 --> 00:04:38.840
What you have done these last 5 days
is to grow up like crazy.
00:04:39.000 --> 00:04:40.840
And I hope, we hope
00:04:41.040 --> 00:04:45.960
you take some of this experience
with you and don’t forget it.
00:04:46.240 --> 00:04:47.080
OK?
00:04:47.280 --> 00:04:50.920
One last thing. If anyone wants
to give us a farewell hug,
00:04:51.120 --> 00:04:54.560
we’d be delighted!
00:04:57.640 --> 00:05:00.720
Little lady, you just keep on being
the way you are.
00:05:00.880 --> 00:05:03.640
Don’t be afraid in life.
00:05:05.000 --> 00:05:07.480
You are so lovely,
but give even more.
00:05:07.680 --> 00:05:10.360
Remember, OK?
No matter what happens.
00:05:10.560 --> 00:05:12.560
Thank you.
00:06:40.880 --> 00:06:44.360
l’ve hardly slept, Wilfried.
I woke up at half six.
00:06:45.120 --> 00:06:49.440
I kept on thinking about the images
we did yesterday...
00:06:49.749 --> 00:06:51.898
The whole time, when I was thinking,
00:06:51.916 --> 00:06:54.495
I was thinking?
"Here we can do that like this?"
00:06:54.496 --> 00:06:58.472
We can profit these eight people
to do it like this?"
00:06:58.558 --> 00:07:00.245
Lots of ideas!
00:07:00.399 --> 00:07:02.793
I find it wonderful
that we can do it again.
00:07:02.848 --> 00:07:04.507
I have the music all time in my head?
00:07:04.508 --> 00:07:05.535
Really?
00:07:15.280 --> 00:07:18.920
Amaya? This is Koro, from
Larramendi school in San Sebastian.
00:07:19.120 --> 00:07:21.360
? Hello.
– I have a call from you...
00:07:21.520 --> 00:07:24.640
I wanted to briefly
talk to you about how we are going
00:07:24.800 --> 00:07:27.280
to approach the project.
Just to make arrangements.
00:07:27.640 --> 00:07:30.840
There might be
lots of things you still don’t know...
00:07:31.000 --> 00:07:35.160
Look, one of the things
that strikes me
00:07:35.360 --> 00:07:37.725
is that you come for a week
00:07:37.760 --> 00:07:41.280
and that then the kids are capable
of doing a choreography.
00:07:49.160 --> 00:07:51.520
Well, we start from scratch on Monday
00:07:51.680 --> 00:07:54.320
completely from scratch,
with the warm-up.
00:07:54.520 --> 00:07:57.440
We gradually start building
the choreography and they can also
00:07:57.640 --> 00:08:02.400
contribute their own creativity
so that they feel comfortable.
00:08:02.720 --> 00:08:05.880
Between that first moment,
when they know nothing at all
00:08:06.160 --> 00:08:10.440
and that moment on stage,
in those five days
00:08:10.600 --> 00:08:13.160
they have to overcome
loads of barriers.
00:08:13.560 --> 00:08:16.600
They have to learn a lot,
in a short space of time.
00:08:23.120 --> 00:08:26.240
The choreography needs
to be finished by Thursday.
00:08:26.720 --> 00:08:31.360
And then, on Friday, when we start,
we make the final adjustments
00:08:31.560 --> 00:08:34.880
to each piece we’ve worked on,
we have a final rehearsal...
00:08:35.400 --> 00:08:38.280
- The performance in the afternoon.
? OK, OK.
00:08:39.320 --> 00:08:40.880
Oh!
And I haven’t told you,
00:08:41.040 --> 00:08:43.840
but to me,
coming to San Sebastian is terrific.
00:08:44.040 --> 00:08:47.400
Did you know Larramendi is where
my mother used to work?
00:08:47.600 --> 00:08:50.040
After so many years living away...
00:08:50.480 --> 00:08:53.000
Twenty-five years abroad.
00:08:53.200 --> 00:08:57.360
Coming back to San Sebastian
and to a school so close to home...
00:08:57.520 --> 00:09:00.600
It seems great,
really, I'm so thrilled.
00:09:21.040 --> 00:09:24.600
Well, I have something to announce.
00:09:24.800 --> 00:09:27.240
I have to tell you
what is going to happen
00:09:27.800 --> 00:09:29.280
next week at this school.
00:09:29.520 --> 00:09:30.800
Next week
the students
00:09:30.960 --> 00:09:34.880
in the third and fourth grades
are going to do a choreography,
00:09:35.120 --> 00:09:37.520
to express their feelings
and are going
00:09:37.680 --> 00:09:40.760
to learn things they don’t normally do
throughout the year.
00:09:40.795 --> 00:09:42.845
They’re not going to be
at their desks.
00:09:42.880 --> 00:09:46.800
Our first contact is going to be
a bit, sort of nerve-racking.
00:09:47.200 --> 00:09:50.005
But it’s just dancing,
I mean, it’s not...
00:09:50.040 --> 00:09:53.840
It’s something different we can do
and it could be fun...
00:09:54.040 --> 00:09:56.880
Something different,
and then we’ll have tons of homework.
00:09:57.160 --> 00:09:59.200
No, they're already
giving us homework!
00:09:59.360 --> 00:10:03.480
Let’s see, it’s lots of homework but
a week with no classes, just dancing.
00:10:03.640 --> 00:10:05.800
A week of dancing and nothing else.
00:10:06.560 --> 00:10:12.040
If we lose a day, it’s chaos,
and we lost five and I'd die.
00:10:13.480 --> 00:10:17.160
It’s all under a strict schedule.
It’s all like very...
00:10:17.360 --> 00:10:19.240
We have to teach a lot of material.
00:10:19.440 --> 00:10:23.120
If we aren’t able to finish
our programmes most of the time
00:10:23.320 --> 00:10:26.040
if on top of that, we make
conditions on this and that...
00:10:26.280 --> 00:10:30.040
Yes, we ought to define the concept
of ‘losing time’, shouldn't we?
00:10:30.480 --> 00:10:33.840
Maybe it’s not so much a loss
but much more of a gain.
00:10:34.160 --> 00:10:37.880
Yes. Sometimes we are so,
so stuck in a rut
00:10:38.040 --> 00:10:41.480
that we think
those around us aren’t valid.
00:10:41.720 --> 00:10:43.320
It's important to get through
00:10:43.360 --> 00:10:44.440
your baccalaureate
00:10:44.600 --> 00:10:46.480
take your uni entrance exams
and pass?
00:10:46.680 --> 00:10:50.360
Perhaps not. Maybe that’s precisely
the wrong path to take.
00:10:50.560 --> 00:10:52.160
That doesn’t allow you to grow
00:10:52.360 --> 00:10:54.080
in certain aspects as a person...
00:10:54.120 --> 00:10:56.720
Inconceivable
in the second year of baccalaureate.
00:10:56.880 --> 00:10:58.360
Unthinkable.
00:10:59.560 --> 00:11:02.080
? Not doing is worse than doing.
– Yeah.
00:11:02.280 --> 00:11:04.600
And you boys can start moving,
can't you?
00:11:04.760 --> 00:11:05.880
Not if we have to dance.
00:11:06.040 --> 00:11:07.840
We'll have to dance
close-up, won't we?
00:11:08.040 --> 00:11:09.040
If Roberth dances...
00:11:09.240 --> 00:11:12.000
What do you think about touching?
Because...
00:11:12.200 --> 00:11:13.520
No guy is going to touch you!
00:11:13.680 --> 00:11:15.520
? Claudia!
– Claudia's getting excited!
00:11:15.720 --> 00:11:17.765
l’m not going to answer, so...
00:11:17.800 --> 00:11:22.560
Touching, the thing is when we talk
about touching, people think of...
00:11:23.640 --> 00:11:25.120
What I find interesting is
00:11:25.320 --> 00:11:28.880
that everyone, in the class,
are seeing a person...
00:11:29.040 --> 00:11:31.520
I don’t know, so-and so,
not doing anything,
00:11:31.720 --> 00:11:34.200
not doing their homework,
not bringing material...
00:11:34.400 --> 00:11:39.040
And suddenly something appears
in this type of activities, you know?
00:11:39.120 --> 00:11:41.680
And they see the person through
totally different eyes.
00:11:41.840 --> 00:11:46.160
Well, I already know what will happen
will be a bit of a whirlwind.
00:11:46.360 --> 00:11:48.600
We don’t really know
what will happen either.
00:11:48.760 --> 00:11:53.240
Anyhow, let’s see how it turns out.
I think it is going to be a winner.
00:11:53.440 --> 00:11:55.880
And anyway
it’s just a five-day experience.
00:11:56.440 --> 00:12:02.360
Well, as for Larramendi school,
there will be around 80 boys and girls
00:12:03.120 --> 00:12:05.880
aged between 14 and 16.
00:12:06.040 --> 00:12:08.120
? OK! Wow! It’s a big group.
00:12:08.160 --> 00:12:10.800
But we should stop the classes
completely?
00:12:10.960 --> 00:12:12.240
From what I understood.
00:12:12.440 --> 00:12:14.320
Yes.
That’s the interesting thing,
00:12:14.360 --> 00:12:16.640
the interesting thing is to
immerse themselves in another world.
00:12:44.247 --> 00:12:45.797
We've done a lot of projects,
00:12:45.798 --> 00:12:47.495
most projects in Germany,
we're based in Germany.
00:12:47.496 --> 00:12:52.127
I've worked in Austria, in Wien,
and also in Amsterdam?
00:12:52.128 --> 00:12:55.448
I'm very excited about
what's going to happen in Spain,
00:12:55.449 --> 00:12:56.711
in San Sebasti?n.
00:12:57.216 --> 00:12:58.905
For me, it will be the first time
00:12:59.123 --> 00:13:01.618
and for these children
it will be the first time as well.
00:13:17.052 --> 00:13:22.456
The violins? as the rain.
Then we get the flowers and the rain.
00:13:22.620 --> 00:13:25.777
And everybody is down
and all the hands go up in a row.
00:13:26.018 --> 00:13:29.857
And then, there is a moment
that I'd like that they enter?
00:13:29.955 --> 00:13:31.281
As a group thing?
00:13:31.282 --> 00:13:35.437
In lines. Yes.
They enter in lines.
00:13:35.438 --> 00:13:38.253
A little bit like?
00:13:38.254 --> 00:13:45.367
They walk and then there is a sequence
from "Ohneabermit".
00:13:45.611 --> 00:13:49.491
They stand in four lines.
They go to the right leg.
00:13:49.492 --> 00:13:51.313
First, the third line,
00:13:51.314 --> 00:13:53.486
and the other ones
go to the other side.
00:13:53.487 --> 00:13:55.927
Oh, yes.
It's brilliant.
00:13:55.958 --> 00:13:59.371
And then, they go into circles
in the end?
00:14:00.650 --> 00:14:03.251
You have to help them and coach them.
00:14:03.252 --> 00:14:07.255
And don't think if you do like 4, 5
projects and because you are
00:14:07.256 --> 00:14:09.903
in the fifth project in the row
that you already start like:
00:14:09.904 --> 00:14:11.251
"Ok, let's do something!"
No, no.
00:14:11.252 --> 00:14:13.272
You have to start from zero again.
00:14:14.428 --> 00:14:17.697
But, we try to bring them here (up).
00:14:17.698 --> 00:14:20.729
We don't start here (down),
we start here (up).
00:14:20.784 --> 00:14:23.762
If we ended here (in the middle), we ended here.
00:14:23.763 --> 00:14:25.130
If we start here (down),
00:14:25.131 --> 00:14:27.967
it's extremely difficult to get here (in the middle).
00:14:28.133 --> 00:14:31.059
We start challenging.
00:14:31.235 --> 00:14:35.657
If we challenge them, like
"Come on! Come on! Come on!"
00:14:35.658 --> 00:14:39.013
"You can give more!, you can
give more! You can give more!"
00:14:39.014 --> 00:14:43.270
And if they open up,
are open to watch this,
00:14:43.744 --> 00:14:46.892
?beautiful things happen.
00:15:16.240 --> 00:15:21.800
I think adults are either friends
or don’t get along.
00:15:21.960 --> 00:15:25.280
There is no middle ground,
it's you, yes, and you... no.
00:15:27.600 --> 00:15:30.320
My father used to work
in the building trade
00:15:30.520 --> 00:15:34.600
but has now began
to transport vehicles
00:15:35.720 --> 00:15:37.720
for a car rental company.
00:15:38.280 --> 00:15:42.285
And my mother is head
of the vehicle rental company.
00:15:42.320 --> 00:15:46.800
I'm a good student and
I normally have no trouble studying.
00:15:46.960 --> 00:15:49.720
l’ll study
either Administration and Business
00:15:49.920 --> 00:15:51.800
Management or Business studies.
00:15:53.200 --> 00:15:55.520
In my class...
Well, this year less so,
00:15:55.680 --> 00:15:57.320
but there have been years when...
00:15:57.520 --> 00:15:59.800
It was impossible to speak in class.
00:16:00.760 --> 00:16:02.160
Simply impossible.
00:16:04.400 --> 00:16:08.200
And several groups,
the one l’m in for example,
00:16:08.400 --> 00:16:11.560
we are, I don’t know, normal.
00:16:11.720 --> 00:16:15.240
Well, I mean, if someone new arrives,
we always accept them.
00:16:16.480 --> 00:16:19.680
And then there’s another group
00:16:19.840 --> 00:16:22.840
we call the stroppy guys...
00:16:23.000 --> 00:16:25.040
Because you said something and...
00:16:25.240 --> 00:16:27.720
Or you did something wrong
they laughed or...
00:16:27.880 --> 00:16:30.960
Or they started to huddle up together,
00:16:31.160 --> 00:16:33.960
sniggering and...
They’d give you a dirty look.
00:16:36.680 --> 00:16:39.800
It’s better now, but a while ago...
Worse.
00:16:40.520 --> 00:16:42.080
Because...
00:16:42.720 --> 00:16:43.880
I can’t...
00:16:45.440 --> 00:16:47.600
Well, just that, it was worse before.
00:17:00.680 --> 00:17:03.200
There was a group of kids that,
years ago,
00:17:03.400 --> 00:17:06.040
showed no respect
towards their classmates
00:17:06.240 --> 00:17:08.400
and their classmates were frightened.
00:17:08.560 --> 00:17:10.920
They were a bit scared, frightened
00:17:11.400 --> 00:17:13.600
of the others laughing at them.
00:17:13.760 --> 00:17:15.800
Maybe the group
that has most suffered
00:17:15.960 --> 00:17:18.160
because of things
that happened 3 years ago.
00:17:18.360 --> 00:17:21.520
But slowly,
there’s more and more control,
00:17:21.680 --> 00:17:23.800
more fear to express what they want...
00:17:24.120 --> 00:17:29.040
But I hope that they can relax
00:17:29.360 --> 00:17:31.120
and that they enjoy themselves
00:17:31.320 --> 00:17:35.040
and come out of their shell,
because you can feel all the tension.
00:17:44.640 --> 00:17:50.080
Well... We are embarrassed
about being in the show...
00:17:50.280 --> 00:17:52.320
Embarrassed?
But why?
00:17:52.480 --> 00:17:55.520
The thing is, I mean,
it might be interesting but...
00:17:55.680 --> 00:17:57.360
We're really clumsy.
00:17:57.560 --> 00:18:00.040
Really clumsy?
You’re clumsy dancing?
00:18:00.320 --> 00:18:01.920
- I am.
- Have you ever danced?
00:18:02.120 --> 00:18:05.600
No, but you said
it’s not compulsory to.
00:18:06.640 --> 00:18:08.960
You can’t force us to do this.
00:18:09.160 --> 00:18:11.520
Maybe you'd be happy
with that, wouldn't you?
00:18:11.680 --> 00:18:13.480
Saying you don’t want to do it
00:18:13.680 --> 00:18:18.040
but l’ll be very sorry
if you don’t use this opportunity
00:18:18.240 --> 00:18:20.040
you are presented with.
00:18:20.640 --> 00:18:24.160
I think this is an opportunity,
not only for the victims
00:18:24.360 --> 00:18:26.280
the ones who have suffered
or are afraid
00:18:26.480 --> 00:18:28.360
but also for those
00:18:28.560 --> 00:18:32.800
who haven't treated
their classmates well.
00:18:33.160 --> 00:18:36.160
The truth is l’m curious to know
what will happen.
00:18:36.320 --> 00:18:38.800
I think
it’s extremely interesting for both.
00:18:38.960 --> 00:18:40.360
Equally difficult.
00:18:40.560 --> 00:18:44.160
For people who have suffered,
going out there and exposing
00:18:44.360 --> 00:18:47.200
and dancing and: "l’m coming out
on stage no matter what"
00:18:47.400 --> 00:18:49.120
it can’t be easy when they've been
00:18:49.320 --> 00:18:52.400
frequently bullied in class
for the past 2 or 3 years.
00:18:52.560 --> 00:18:54.160
And suddenly relaxing
00:18:54.360 --> 00:18:57.560
with those same people
can’t be easy at all.
00:18:57.720 --> 00:19:03.240
And it’s the same for people who
have been a bit aloof, to suddenly
00:19:03.440 --> 00:19:06.160
come down to earth and say:
"Look how at ease I am
00:19:06.360 --> 00:19:10.080
and I don’t need to be tense
to go to class. " Saying: "Here I am...
00:19:10.120 --> 00:19:12.685
Must be so difficult.
00:19:12.720 --> 00:19:15.960
It's a good experience
and a great opportunity for both.
00:19:16.400 --> 00:19:20.080
So that both break away
from the roles they have taken on
00:19:20.280 --> 00:19:22.640
and express themselves
as they feel they have to.
00:19:22.800 --> 00:19:27.000
And share, because we're all
the same. Different but the same.
00:19:42.040 --> 00:19:45.160
Good morning!
l’m Wilfried.
00:19:45.360 --> 00:19:49.280
l’m from Holland and
l’m a choreographer and dancer.
00:19:49.480 --> 00:19:53.800
l’m his wife. l’m from here.
l’m from Antiguo.
00:19:53.960 --> 00:19:58.400
And these two here are our assistants.
They are from here, they live here.
00:19:58.680 --> 00:20:01.000
They’re both dancers and Clara
00:20:01.200 --> 00:20:03.360
was my first dance teacher,
00:20:03.520 --> 00:20:05.000
jazz dance at that time,
00:20:05.200 --> 00:20:07.880
30 years ago,
just when I started dancing.
00:20:07.915 --> 00:20:10.148
Ok?
We are going to dance with you.
00:20:10.720 --> 00:20:13.692
We are going to do a super project.
00:20:14.506 --> 00:20:18.394
Who of you ever heard
about dance-theatre?
00:20:18.792 --> 00:20:22.040
Does anybody of you
know dance-theatre?
00:20:30.781 --> 00:20:31.838
Nobody.
00:20:31.839 --> 00:20:34.635
So, it will be a big surprise.
Wonderful.
00:20:36.092 --> 00:20:40.467
This is what you have.
This is your tool.
00:20:41.492 --> 00:20:46.959
And this is not an object
coming out this like a computer.
00:20:47.410 --> 00:20:49.323
This is your tool.
00:20:50.968 --> 00:20:55.705
And yes, you are pretty naked
in what you want to show,
00:20:56.400 --> 00:20:59.306
but you have to do it
with your tool.
00:20:59.328 --> 00:21:03.497
And I think that also
for lots of people may be nice to see
00:21:04.042 --> 00:21:06.139
but to do is another story.
00:21:06.140 --> 00:21:09.718
You feel like:
"Oh, no, no, I don't want to show. "
00:21:09.794 --> 00:21:12.059
Many times people come to us to say
00:21:12.323 --> 00:21:15.319
"I can not dance, I can't dance?
00:21:16.189 --> 00:21:18.477
Understand that. "
And then we say like:
00:21:19.206 --> 00:21:21.141
"I don't believe you. "
00:21:22.055 --> 00:21:27.258
All of you, all of you here,
you all can dance.
00:21:27.492 --> 00:21:28.960
No problem.
00:21:30.227 --> 00:21:35.120
I've seen people dancing
without limbs, in wheelchairs.
00:21:35.472 --> 00:21:39.789
The moment you have a body
you can move, you can dance,
00:21:39.790 --> 00:21:41.965
you can say something with your body.
00:21:42.584 --> 00:21:45.712
And that's the most precious thing
you can do.
00:21:46.207 --> 00:21:49.411
Move with your body,
move with what you have.
00:21:50.127 --> 00:21:52.213
And all of you can do that.
00:21:52.214 --> 00:21:56.255
All of you have something wonderful
and beautiful to show.
00:21:56.611 --> 00:21:59.744
And for that we have five days.
00:22:02.747 --> 00:22:05.720
And I think and I believe
you can do it.
00:22:11.480 --> 00:22:16.360
I think sometimes,
maybe because of pride or something
00:22:16.560 --> 00:22:18.560
it’s hard for us to talk.
00:22:26.480 --> 00:22:30.720
I'm here to solve some problems
00:22:30.880 --> 00:22:33.520
I had in this school.
00:22:39.971 --> 00:22:42.100
We start working with them
00:22:42.101 --> 00:22:45.921
and very fast you see who is leader,
00:22:45.922 --> 00:22:50.409
who is more timid, who is
more crazy, who is lazy?
00:22:53.201 --> 00:22:56.823
But by giving this person
an extra responsibility
00:22:56.824 --> 00:23:01.321
you often see that
all of a sudden, they start shining.
00:23:06.520 --> 00:23:11.760
I started at primary school here,
at nursery school, in Larramendi.
00:23:13.360 --> 00:23:18.200
I had some problems last year and I
distanced myself from things a bit
00:23:18.400 --> 00:23:20.440
so I decided to change schools.
00:23:23.120 --> 00:23:26.480
With my classmates,
I ended up messing things up
00:23:26.640 --> 00:23:28.960
and I wanted to apologise for that
00:23:29.200 --> 00:23:31.460
and end up in a friendly way
with them.
00:23:31.495 --> 00:23:38.861
Sometimes people, who in classrooms
are very silent and shy
00:23:39.399 --> 00:23:43.663
through a project like this,
by giving them a little special thing
00:23:44.071 --> 00:23:46.890
then usually ends like 'Wow!'
00:23:57.025 --> 00:24:02.139
Ok! The first thing we'll do?
you just start walking.
00:24:02.577 --> 00:24:05.465
Whatever direction.
Just walk.
00:24:05.818 --> 00:24:08.977
Walk.
Whatever direction.
00:24:09.376 --> 00:24:12.793
Don't stay close to your friends
doing like?
00:24:15.052 --> 00:24:18.434
That's normal.
Please, separate yourselves.
00:24:19.008 --> 00:24:23.845
Everybode for him and herself.
Ok. Walk!
00:24:24.243 --> 00:24:25.945
Go, walk!
Everywhere?
00:24:26.052 --> 00:24:29.214
Walk around like:
"Where am I now?"
00:24:30.009 --> 00:24:31.931
Finding your place.
00:24:38.344 --> 00:24:39.409
Stop!
00:24:40.123 --> 00:24:42.404
You all go in the same round.
00:24:42.909 --> 00:24:45.459
Because if you go all in a circle
00:24:45.460 --> 00:24:48.147
it looks like you know all each other?
and it's like?
00:24:55.476 --> 00:24:57.147
You are not cows!
00:24:57.569 --> 00:24:59.667
Oh boys, please!
00:25:00.438 --> 00:25:02.912
We break through groups.
00:25:02.913 --> 00:25:08.485
We work with such a big group
and we mix them completely.
00:25:08.703 --> 00:25:12.167
Social groups, which is normal in class
and schoolyard,
00:25:12.666 --> 00:25:14.167
we break through.
00:25:14.481 --> 00:25:19.123
We don't know these kids actually,
we don't know how the situation is?
00:25:19.124 --> 00:25:21.824
which group is together,
which one are the cool ones,
00:25:21.825 --> 00:25:22.990
which one are the nerds.
00:25:22.991 --> 00:25:25.688
They use all these names
for each other.
00:25:26.965 --> 00:25:29.250
We put all in one pot,
we stir it,
00:25:29.361 --> 00:25:33.842
and something wonderful, a wonderful
soup comes out of it.
00:25:33.946 --> 00:25:37.043
Stand strong.
The feeling "here I am".
00:25:37.390 --> 00:25:38.705
Look ahead!
00:25:40.113 --> 00:25:41.309
Be proud!
00:25:44.597 --> 00:25:47.268
We first try to center everybody.
00:25:48.147 --> 00:25:51.999
And then the feel of all these things
maybe just put your hands up.
00:25:52.921 --> 00:25:57.992
We just say: "Put your hands up,
very high, feel the stretch".
00:25:58.729 --> 00:26:03.228
And then, "Oh, no, no no, no?
you can go there. "
00:26:03.436 --> 00:26:05.413
You can go there!
You can go there!
00:26:05.891 --> 00:26:08.080
Look at...
It's not like?
00:26:10.405 --> 00:26:14.396
Really?
Make yourself as long as possible.
00:26:14.444 --> 00:26:15.704
Touch the roof.
00:26:16.809 --> 00:26:20.456
Seven, eight?
One, two?
00:26:21.182 --> 00:26:23.902
Stretch your arms.
Move your fingers.
00:26:24.855 --> 00:26:28.827
Look at your fingers.
Wow, I can move my fingers!
00:26:29.834 --> 00:26:33.689
And let them drop.
Wow!
00:26:35.934 --> 00:26:39.380
It's a difference to see you guys
going there..
00:26:39.381 --> 00:26:44.573
than? forgive me?.I'm here.
00:26:44.685 --> 00:26:46.369
No! There!
00:26:46.370 --> 00:26:48.573
So, from the beginning,
00:26:48.574 --> 00:26:51.057
In the warm-up,
we are already saying that
00:26:51.070 --> 00:26:54.297
"Your limits are much further,
you can do much more"
00:26:54.471 --> 00:26:59.042
The body tells a lot.
Body language.
00:26:59.728 --> 00:27:03.083
Here I am.
Fuck.
00:27:05.517 --> 00:27:10.622
Young people have the strength
and power to say something.
00:27:12.400 --> 00:27:15.680
When you are dancing, the first thing
00:27:15.840 --> 00:27:19.600
you do is to be with your body,
no more.
00:27:19.800 --> 00:27:22.520
You are not performing a role.
00:27:22.840 --> 00:27:25.160
What we normally do in society is
00:27:25.360 --> 00:27:29.120
to take on a role, a part.
00:27:29.320 --> 00:27:31.080
And there, we feel safe.
00:27:31.280 --> 00:27:34.600
We choose.
We gradually choose our part.
00:27:34.760 --> 00:27:36.800
We feel more comfortable
in one way,
00:27:36.960 --> 00:27:38.600
or more uncomfortable in another.
00:27:38.800 --> 00:27:41.000
When you shed these roles and say
00:27:41.200 --> 00:27:43.360
no, no, no,
you don’t have to do this.
00:27:43.520 --> 00:27:46.520
Not be the nice guy, or the funny guy,
00:27:46.680 --> 00:27:50.040
or the grumpy guy,
or the know-it-all or the dunce.
00:27:50.075 --> 00:27:51.360
And then it goes down deep.
00:27:51.400 --> 00:27:53.200
That’s where emotion
is outwardly released.
00:27:53.240 --> 00:27:55.040
Be yourself.
Do what you have to do
00:27:55.240 --> 00:27:56.960
and that’s it.
And the feeling is
00:27:57.160 --> 00:27:59.720
as if you don’t have anywhere
to cling on.
00:27:59.848 --> 00:28:04.591
Why are you still talking
and doing stupidness with each other?
00:28:05.048 --> 00:28:07.868
Why?
Give me an answer!
00:28:08.238 --> 00:28:09.230
Why?
00:28:11.350 --> 00:28:12.908
- What?
- Nothing.
00:28:12.909 --> 00:28:15.575
Nothing?
"Nothing" is not an answer.
00:28:18.465 --> 00:28:20.979
In the beginning, it's all strange.
00:28:21.382 --> 00:28:24.873
But we will bring you,
we will support you, we will help you.
00:28:24.874 --> 00:28:26.395
That's why we are here.
00:28:27.554 --> 00:28:29.336
We'll do a pause.
00:28:29.337 --> 00:28:34.189
And then, one o'clock?
At one we'll continue.
00:28:34.190 --> 00:28:36.645
We can work
in a little different other things.
00:28:38.560 --> 00:28:40.760
- How did it go? What do you think?
- Fine.
00:28:40.920 --> 00:28:44.560
- I think they worked very well.
- It’s the first day for you, for them.
00:28:44.600 --> 00:28:45.800
Sounding each other out.
00:28:45.960 --> 00:28:49.160
No, no, it’s very important
to be strict.
00:28:49.200 --> 00:28:51.600
Yes, yes.
They need it.
00:28:51.760 --> 00:28:54.920
Yes, because in 5 days we have to do
00:28:55.120 --> 00:28:58.920
a thirty-minute choreography.
That's a lot.
00:29:00.840 --> 00:29:04.000
It’s like when I say stupid.
00:29:04.200 --> 00:29:07.560
The situation is stupid,
the person isn’t.
00:29:07.800 --> 00:29:13.240
You're not stupid, what you do is...
00:29:13.440 --> 00:29:14.120
Why?
00:29:14.840 --> 00:29:16.920
And always, also, when they laugh,
00:29:17.120 --> 00:29:19.840
I ask them, why are you laughing? Why?
00:29:20.000 --> 00:29:23.160
? They feel strange.
– Embarrassed.
00:29:23.360 --> 00:29:25.400
Of course.
They feel defensive.
00:29:25.800 --> 00:29:31.120
I think it will be a success
but, over time,
00:29:31.440 --> 00:29:34.480
throughout the course
that success will fizzle out.
00:29:34.640 --> 00:29:38.480
Something will remain,
but my perspective is
00:29:38.680 --> 00:29:42.720
of a bubble effect. I come from
free time activities. Summer camps.
00:29:42.880 --> 00:29:46.240
And in summer camps,
ideal situations arose.
00:29:46.600 --> 00:29:49.520
Kids that suddenly
turn their life around
00:29:49.720 --> 00:29:52.400
and suddenly become great,
positive leaders.
00:29:52.440 --> 00:29:55.160
But going back to the routine,
this effect,
00:29:55.360 --> 00:29:59.080
I call it the bubble effect, it bursts
a little and then fizzles out.
00:29:59.320 --> 00:30:01.040
I think something will remain.
00:30:01.240 --> 00:30:05.360
I hope this project is a beginning.
00:30:05.520 --> 00:30:08.725
Doing something like this
every now and then...
00:30:08.760 --> 00:30:12.400
Let's hope it's a beginning.
To work on things besides the mind.
00:30:12.457 --> 00:30:14.447
Music starts.
They come in the middle.
00:30:14.448 --> 00:30:16.848
If you are there,
you run here in the middle.
00:30:16.849 --> 00:30:19.290
All you at once?tatata.
00:30:20.058 --> 00:30:23.959
You run to the side
as if you want to escape. Escape.
00:30:23.991 --> 00:30:26.183
Bam! Bam!?
To the side.
00:30:26.608 --> 00:30:30.153
Only they stay there, dead? trash.
00:30:30.440 --> 00:30:33.760
What point do you want
to make by what we’ve done?
00:30:34.360 --> 00:30:37.120
What we want to show
through the choreography?
00:30:37.320 --> 00:30:39.160
- The images...
- Yes, that’s it.
00:30:39.481 --> 00:30:43.493
The beginning is, people,
young people, lost.
00:30:44.530 --> 00:30:47.062
And this moment actually
you are very vulnerable.
00:30:47.680 --> 00:30:52.240
And then there are friends,
other people
00:30:52.440 --> 00:30:56.560
who come to help.
To help you escape from the situation.
00:31:00.480 --> 00:31:05.720
And the music is the power
from outside
00:31:05.880 --> 00:31:08.280
coming from outside.
00:31:35.000 --> 00:31:38.600
I had this sensation like...
I don’t know.
00:31:38.800 --> 00:31:40.680
It reminded me of something.
00:31:40.880 --> 00:31:44.080
It reminded me of something
that had happened to me.
00:31:44.280 --> 00:31:45.960
Like it had happened to me
00:31:46.160 --> 00:31:48.720
or it had happened
to someone close to me.
00:31:49.760 --> 00:31:53.520
l’m very observant.
I look a lot, I see a lot.
00:31:54.720 --> 00:31:58.200
And feel what people feel.
I don’t know why, I feel it.
00:32:07.440 --> 00:32:11.680
The same as when you need help and
someone comes to talk to you...
00:32:12.200 --> 00:32:17.120
Communication is what I love most.
I like communicating with people
00:32:17.320 --> 00:32:20.160
because otherwise
I keep it all to myself
00:32:20.360 --> 00:32:23.120
and that’s what I don’t like,
keeping it to myself.
00:32:23.320 --> 00:32:25.120
I have seen what it's like
00:32:25.320 --> 00:32:28.760
and I don’t like it
because l’ve never liked it.
00:32:28.920 --> 00:32:30.480
l’d really like to be able
00:32:30.680 --> 00:32:33.120
to communicate with my mother better.
00:32:33.912 --> 00:32:36.743
First of all,
when you say "society".
00:32:36.760 --> 00:32:40.953
The society thinks that?
Who is society?
00:32:42.109 --> 00:32:46.477
Society is
millions of individuals.
00:32:46.812 --> 00:32:50.956
Who decides what is good?
Who?
00:32:51.832 --> 00:32:56.113
Those people who want to do a series
that brings them a lot of money?
00:32:58.683 --> 00:33:03.985
Who decides what society thinks,
what society demands?
00:33:04.957 --> 00:33:08.319
It's a question for me?
somewhere up in the air.
00:33:09.877 --> 00:33:12.417
I would like have the answer,
but I don't have the answer.
00:33:12.542 --> 00:33:15.769
The answer is like:
"Which way do I want to go?"
00:33:17.318 --> 00:33:19.871
"Which way
do I want to choose to go?"
00:33:40.840 --> 00:33:44.200
- Don’t you ever get tired?
- No, I have...
00:33:44.400 --> 00:33:48.680
My feet
are starting to hurt now but...
00:33:48.840 --> 00:33:51.640
If you’re not used to moving around,
it’s normal.
00:33:52.440 --> 00:33:55.680
Look at your father. Nothing.
No stiffness or anything.
00:33:55.840 --> 00:33:58.000
Where do you move around?
On the sofa?
00:33:58.480 --> 00:34:04.200
On the sofa? I spend 8 or 9 hours
driving every single day!
00:34:04.400 --> 00:34:07.560
And how did people react to this idea?
00:34:07.720 --> 00:34:09.320
Fine.
I've been...
00:34:09.520 --> 00:34:10.680
Is everyone happy?
00:34:11.120 --> 00:34:15.360
Yes.
l’ve been with people in third grade.
00:34:15.480 --> 00:34:17.720
? And what about your classmates?
– Fine.
00:34:18.520 --> 00:34:20.680
l’m looking forward to seeing him.
00:34:21.000 --> 00:34:23.080
I really fancy seeing...
00:34:23.440 --> 00:34:26.485
l’m not worried about him,
I know he’ll get along fine.
00:34:26.520 --> 00:34:30.680
No, but he seemed very happy to me.
I noticed he was happy at lunch time.
00:34:30.840 --> 00:34:32.040
You can easily tell.
00:34:32.240 --> 00:34:35.880
He knows how to express when
he's having a good or bad time.
00:34:35.915 --> 00:34:36.800
We are the same.
00:34:38.680 --> 00:34:39.960
Don’t remind it to me.
00:34:54.640 --> 00:34:59.320
I see myself as a nice,
reasonable girl.
00:35:01.480 --> 00:35:06.760
My dream is to become a model.
00:35:07.320 --> 00:35:09.000
But I already know I won’t be.
00:35:09.200 --> 00:35:14.920
Because I don’t meet
the requirements needed.
00:35:15.760 --> 00:35:18.240
I don’t want anyone
to say anything in class.
00:35:20.280 --> 00:35:22.800
I don’t want them to spoil my dream.
00:35:23.320 --> 00:35:26.640
Everyone wants to be
what they want to be and that’s it.
00:35:27.360 --> 00:35:31.360
I know they're going to say
I will never be a model but...
00:35:31.720 --> 00:35:33.640
But, it’s my dream...
00:35:35.134 --> 00:35:38.175
Good morning!
Good morning.
00:35:39.124 --> 00:35:43.354
And now, on the second day,
we make a new step forward.
00:35:43.840 --> 00:35:47.360
I think they should teach us
more stuff about life and all that.
00:35:47.560 --> 00:35:50.840
How to react in difficult situations
00:35:51.000 --> 00:35:53.920
and knowing
what you might come up against.
00:35:55.961 --> 00:35:59.442
Ok. The piece is about
young people
00:35:59.443 --> 00:36:05.913
children that have to work,
they don't earn any money.
00:36:05.914 --> 00:36:08.041
It's almost like slaves.
00:36:08.042 --> 00:36:12.327
We have chosen six situations
from which movements
00:36:12.596 --> 00:36:15.101
can be made into a choreography.
00:36:15.305 --> 00:36:21.646
Then each group will make
this little choreography
00:36:21.647 --> 00:36:22.899
these movements.
00:36:23.360 --> 00:36:27.280
But it's about your movements,
your imagination.
00:36:27.480 --> 00:36:29.640
What they might mean to you.
00:36:30.760 --> 00:36:36.280
One cleans windows.
Two sweeps the floor.
00:36:36.480 --> 00:36:37.960
You, the windows.
00:36:38.160 --> 00:36:42.160
- Me?
- Yes. You. The windows, the floors,...
00:36:42.400 --> 00:36:44.160
How many people for each one?
00:36:44.360 --> 00:36:46.680
Not, sort of, six different people.
00:36:46.840 --> 00:36:49.240
For kids, the world
is the world they experience
00:36:49.440 --> 00:36:51.120
and there’s nothing else.
00:36:51.320 --> 00:36:54.080
At these ages they are starting
to understand and see
00:36:54.280 --> 00:36:56.520
that the world is different
and is outside.
00:36:58.240 --> 00:37:02.160
And of course the world at their side
is very important to them and
00:37:02.360 --> 00:37:04.760
they should bring it
into their environment
00:37:04.795 --> 00:37:06.400
but I think it gets too small.
00:37:06.600 --> 00:37:10.240
I really think they need targets
that are further away.
00:37:10.320 --> 00:37:12.920
If we get lower down here,
everyone can be seen.
00:37:13.120 --> 00:37:15.240
Every group in a single movement,
00:37:15.400 --> 00:37:18.600
you all have to make
the same movement.
00:37:18.800 --> 00:37:21.640
You aren't able to do it?
Come on! Of course you will!
00:37:21.675 --> 00:37:23.248
To build something together!
00:37:23.249 --> 00:37:24.992
To dance together!
00:37:25.951 --> 00:37:28.843
It's to create something together.
To dance together.
00:37:29.280 --> 00:37:32.520
Even if you don’t move, being part
of the group, being in there
00:37:32.680 --> 00:37:35.120
in the group
and simply feeling the music
00:37:35.320 --> 00:37:36.680
even if you don’t move?
00:37:37.120 --> 00:37:38.960
- Don't you want to have a go?
- No.
00:37:39.160 --> 00:37:43.520
But, how are you going to feel?
You're going to feel worse over here.
00:37:43.880 --> 00:37:46.600
Students in baccalaureate
don’t want to think.
00:37:46.800 --> 00:37:48.320
Using their minds bores them.
00:37:48.520 --> 00:37:51.680
They aren’t motivated.
They don’t want to use their minds.
00:37:51.840 --> 00:37:54.480
The small kids are still eager.
They’re open.
00:37:54.680 --> 00:37:56.040
And they slowly close up.
00:37:56.480 --> 00:37:58.800
I want to be left alone.
I study Derivatives,
00:37:58.960 --> 00:38:02.120
I don’t know what they're for,
and Integrals
00:38:02.320 --> 00:38:04.720
but I study them, pass and get out.
00:38:04.880 --> 00:38:07.480
How are they not going
to shut themselves up
00:38:07.680 --> 00:38:10.480
if they're in a classroom
for 6 hours listening.
00:38:10.680 --> 00:38:12.360
And it’s still more dynamic
00:38:12.560 --> 00:38:13.880
at secondary schools.
00:38:14.040 --> 00:38:16.320
There’s more teamwork, more sharing,
00:38:16.520 --> 00:38:18.680
more presentations.
But in baccalaureate
00:38:18.840 --> 00:38:21.960
note-taking, note-taking,
tests and it’s over.
00:38:22.680 --> 00:38:25.080
What kind of motivation is that? None.
00:38:25.280 --> 00:38:28.400
And not only motivation,
what an ordeal, don't you think?
00:38:31.240 --> 00:38:36.160
The goal is a normal life without
too many complications.
00:38:38.640 --> 00:38:42.160
I really love rugby.
I like meeting up with my friends.
00:38:42.360 --> 00:38:44.000
Well, I don't like studying.
00:38:44.280 --> 00:38:45.920
Nobody likes studying but
00:38:46.120 --> 00:38:49.600
as we have to study, it’s a duty,
so we study.
00:38:49.760 --> 00:38:52.880
If you don’t study,
you'll get nowhere.
00:38:53.120 --> 00:38:56.760
We have inherited an educational model
00:38:56.920 --> 00:38:59.760
from Napoleonic times which teaches in
00:38:59.960 --> 00:39:02.320
such a way
that it doesn't develop people
00:39:02.520 --> 00:39:05.280
or make them grow
but rather indoctrinates them.
00:39:05.480 --> 00:39:10.280
To some parents,
teaching stuff about history
00:39:10.480 --> 00:39:13.880
is worthless because it has nothing
to do with the production system.
00:39:14.280 --> 00:39:16.780
I think people,
people who are teaching,
00:39:16.815 --> 00:39:19.280
should be given tools,
especially ones that
00:39:19.480 --> 00:39:22.320
help them survive in this world.
00:39:22.520 --> 00:39:27.040
At the moment with what we teach them,
we can’t promise them
00:39:27.240 --> 00:39:29.480
a job or any kind of happiness.
00:39:29.560 --> 00:39:31.088
Group one, ready?
00:39:31.424 --> 00:39:32.327
Go!
00:39:33.480 --> 00:39:38.800
My dream would be
to get the degree I want,
00:39:38.960 --> 00:39:41.200
Telecommunications Engineering.
00:39:41.680 --> 00:39:45.960
And well,
later I would like to start a family.
00:39:46.600 --> 00:39:48.320
Well, typical things.
00:39:48.600 --> 00:39:51.160
Having children,
getting to teach them...
00:39:51.360 --> 00:39:54.160
You know, what our parents do.
00:39:54.480 --> 00:39:59.360
There is an idea of schools which
I think is like social reproduction.
00:39:59.560 --> 00:40:02.280
People come here to keep on doing
what we have always done.
00:40:02.520 --> 00:40:04.800
And in some way, sometimes,
schools are
00:40:04.960 --> 00:40:07.320
blamed for reproducing this system.
00:40:07.440 --> 00:40:10.040
I think schools
are a reflection of society.
00:40:10.240 --> 00:40:11.960
We're not the only ones responsible
00:40:12.160 --> 00:40:14.480
for this social reproduction,
it’s society as a whole.
00:40:14.640 --> 00:40:17.040
They're at school,
just taking each day as it comes.
00:40:17.240 --> 00:40:18.680
You have to finish the exam,
00:40:18.840 --> 00:40:22.160
you have to get ready
for your university entrance exams.
00:40:22.360 --> 00:40:25.000
You have to know what
you want to do in life.
00:40:25.200 --> 00:40:29.360
How are you going to earn a living?
It’s very specific, here and now.
00:40:29.520 --> 00:40:32.160
But at this age,
I think it’s all too small,
00:40:32.200 --> 00:40:34.800
too narrow
and I think they are swallowed up
00:40:34.835 --> 00:40:36.680
and rebel against this narrowness.
00:40:42.059 --> 00:40:45.081
You have to sit down.
Move for?
00:40:45.082 --> 00:40:47.420
Don't stay so close to each other.
00:40:47.842 --> 00:40:49.687
And don't talk!
00:40:50.840 --> 00:40:53.760
It's boring. I don’t know.
It’s a load of rubbish.
00:40:53.960 --> 00:40:58.160
I came here, I looked around a bit,
my father forced me to do this
00:40:58.360 --> 00:41:00.000
but I don’t want to do it.
00:41:00.200 --> 00:41:03.360
I'm not into it.
They might be but I'm not.
00:41:03.520 --> 00:41:04.720
I don’t know.
00:41:06.120 --> 00:41:10.320
My brother likes it.
I don’t know what he’s doing dancing.
00:41:11.600 --> 00:41:13.960
What happened?
Why are you all sitting here?
00:41:14.160 --> 00:41:15.640
The thing is, I don’t like it.
00:41:15.800 --> 00:41:17.400
So, in life,
it's all a question
00:41:17.600 --> 00:41:20.280
of do I like it or not?
That's the only question.
00:41:21.267 --> 00:41:24.559
You have to decide
that you want to join this project.
00:41:24.743 --> 00:41:26.464
Make your decision.
00:41:26.465 --> 00:41:31.127
Not the steps that all these
talent shows say.
00:41:32.166 --> 00:41:35.379
All these talent shows say that?
if you are not number one,
00:41:35.380 --> 00:41:37.331
what they will do with number six?
00:41:37.332 --> 00:41:40.318
They just?
you are forgotten.
00:41:40.436 --> 00:41:43.324
Number six is like?
you are out, you are nothing.
00:41:52.520 --> 00:41:55.240
Come on, let’s go,
let's move backwards, backwards...
00:41:55.640 --> 00:42:01.240
And look up, look up...
Up, up.
00:42:03.600 --> 00:42:06.840
And now you just keep still.
00:42:28.920 --> 00:42:31.760
My dream would be to dance.
00:42:31.960 --> 00:42:34.440
To earn a living dancing.
00:42:49.560 --> 00:42:52.200
And it’s not always easy
00:42:52.400 --> 00:42:56.560
to combine your dreams and your job.
00:42:57.880 --> 00:43:00.320
Because you can't live
without money...
00:43:00.366 --> 00:43:01.825
The heart says yes,
00:43:01.826 --> 00:43:03.978
but the mind says like?
00:43:03.979 --> 00:43:05.740
Where are you listen to?
00:43:05.790 --> 00:43:08.384
Your head or your heart?
00:43:08.909 --> 00:43:13.209
Follow your dream
and then doors will open also.
00:43:13.210 --> 00:43:14.958
You'll find your way.
00:43:15.285 --> 00:43:18.544
There are too many people
who are thinking with their head
00:43:18.545 --> 00:43:20.263
and their bank accounts.
00:43:21.741 --> 00:43:24.269
And, why?
00:43:24.926 --> 00:43:26.131
Why in the end?
00:43:26.132 --> 00:43:30.052
Only working to be able to pay
your mortgage?
00:43:30.053 --> 00:43:31.820
To be unhappy?
00:43:31.821 --> 00:43:38.079
In a moment I'll put on music.
Please, be as crazy as you can be.
00:43:38.439 --> 00:43:41.923
Higher!
Fly! Fly!
00:43:42.621 --> 00:43:44.031
And stand!
00:43:45.760 --> 00:43:47.840
Everybody's different here and yet
00:43:48.000 --> 00:43:50.880
we evaluate all of them
according to the same pattern.
00:43:51.160 --> 00:43:52.600
The people who don't fit into
00:43:52.760 --> 00:43:54.680
that pattern
are discriminated against.
00:43:55.320 --> 00:43:57.320
So that’s it, it pains me.
00:43:57.560 --> 00:44:00.000
Eyes closed, close your eyes,
everyone.
00:44:00.200 --> 00:44:03.560
Look inside yourselves a bit
and get into your own world.
00:44:04.120 --> 00:44:07.240
I want to see your eyes closed,
in you inner world, everyone.
00:44:07.400 --> 00:44:09.440
You understand, right?
Eyes closed.
00:44:09.920 --> 00:44:11.320
Close your eyes.
00:44:15.840 --> 00:44:17.640
That’s all!
00:44:21.000 --> 00:44:22.681
Amaya says closed eyes...
00:44:22.716 --> 00:44:24.362
You start talking again!
00:44:26.693 --> 00:44:31.686
I enjoy doing these projects.
I love doing these projects.
00:44:32.819 --> 00:44:35.248
You wanted to put some music,
have fun.
00:44:35.426 --> 00:44:38.306
You take away all my fun!
00:44:39.296 --> 00:44:41.474
Stop thinking for yourselves.
00:44:42.534 --> 00:44:45.809
When Amaya says: "Close your eyes!
Be with yourselves!"
00:44:46.273 --> 00:44:48.549
Don't start talking
with your neighbour.
00:44:50.516 --> 00:44:52.851
That's not being with yourselves.
00:44:53.830 --> 00:44:56.756
It takes away all my fun.
00:44:58.054 --> 00:44:59.166
Close your eyes!
00:45:07.371 --> 00:45:08.537
Stand strong.
00:45:08.901 --> 00:45:10.473
The feeling:
"Here I am".
00:45:13.400 --> 00:45:15.557
The feeling we had
last night was?
00:45:15.767 --> 00:45:17.924
We can do something with you!
00:45:18.550 --> 00:45:20.070
Now it's breaking down.
00:45:22.336 --> 00:45:25.802
So be open, try it!
Be for yourselves.
00:45:28.674 --> 00:45:33.144
You have to count together.
You have to feel together.
00:45:34.694 --> 00:45:37.498
A lot of teachers,
a lot of people, say like?
00:45:39.557 --> 00:45:41.417
"With these kids
you can't do anything".
00:45:42.000 --> 00:45:43.829
And we say:
"Yes, we can".
00:45:45.480 --> 00:45:46.560
See you tomorrow.
00:45:46.720 --> 00:45:50.360
Play, smile, go crazy...
Don’t hit each other.
00:45:50.560 --> 00:45:51.800
Cry.
00:45:57.435 --> 00:46:01.087
We shouldn't forget the base,
we shouldn't forget it.
00:46:01.523 --> 00:46:03.818
We are too far away from it.
00:46:04.092 --> 00:46:08.611
We get too far away
from where life comes from.
00:46:10.120 --> 00:46:13.320
But each person doesn't stand out
at a particular point.
00:46:13.480 --> 00:46:15.240
We should all do something.
00:46:15.440 --> 00:46:19.080
? But listen to me, even if Eli
doesn’t do choruses or whatever,
00:46:19.280 --> 00:46:21.560
you can see she’s always at the front.
00:46:21.720 --> 00:46:25.400
In the one we do about the miners
she’s at the front all the time.
00:46:25.600 --> 00:46:27.000
She’s at the front.
00:46:27.200 --> 00:46:29.680
Because there are people
who like taking the limelight.
00:46:29.840 --> 00:46:32.600
If she dances well,
it’s fine to be at the front.
00:46:32.800 --> 00:46:33.680
l’m at the back.
00:46:33.880 --> 00:46:36.760
When someone's good,
they're always criticised.
00:46:36.960 --> 00:46:40.280
Sometimes well and sometimes badly.
But they're always talked about.
00:46:40.480 --> 00:46:43.120
That’s also why you try
not to be too good,
00:46:43.480 --> 00:46:46.080
so that people
don't talk about you all day.
00:46:49.400 --> 00:46:53.080
Maybe at school, intelligent means
00:46:53.280 --> 00:46:56.880
being clever with your mind
or getting good grades.
00:46:57.160 --> 00:47:01.400
But being intelligent in life
isn’t about getting full marks.
00:47:01.560 --> 00:47:04.600
When I go to a dance class,
it’s completely different.
00:47:04.760 --> 00:47:09.040
I relax my mind too, and always try
and give more, and more.
00:47:09.240 --> 00:47:12.840
You could say I'm getting better
and better grades each day.
00:47:27.920 --> 00:47:30.240
WEDNESDAY
00:47:30.680 --> 00:47:33.480
It has been a transformation for Naia,
an opportunity.
00:47:33.520 --> 00:47:35.600
She was waiting for this opportunity.
00:47:38.200 --> 00:47:40.320
And she’s a very, very strong girl.
00:47:40.760 --> 00:47:45.000
The thing is that strength, sometimes,
gets on top of her and squashes her.
00:47:48.320 --> 00:47:50.160
What she has to do is gather
00:47:50.360 --> 00:47:52.520
her strength from below
so that it rises.
00:47:52.680 --> 00:47:55.920
But it’s the same strength,
she has the same strength.
00:47:57.920 --> 00:48:01.200
She left because she couldn't
overcome her problems.
00:48:01.400 --> 00:48:04.560
She doesn’t want to leave
this school, she wants to stay.
00:48:04.720 --> 00:48:05.920
But it’s not real.
00:48:06.120 --> 00:48:09.400
She has made a step and
has to be consistent with that step.
00:48:09.920 --> 00:48:11.400
This is like an orchestra.
00:48:11.600 --> 00:48:14.000
Not until the instruments
are completely ready
00:48:14.200 --> 00:48:16.360
will the conductor go like this.
00:48:16.520 --> 00:48:21.120
Now it’s our turn to be conductors.
You're the instruments, your bodies.
00:48:21.320 --> 00:48:23.920
All the instruments
have to give it their all.
00:48:24.160 --> 00:48:25.920
Finely-tuned and at their best.
00:48:26.360 --> 00:48:27.680
Now, can we start?
00:48:43.040 --> 00:48:48.800
In rugby,
contact is very different to dance.
00:48:49.000 --> 00:48:52.560
In rugby you have to grapple with each
other whether you like it or not.
00:48:52.760 --> 00:48:54.440
We do it to win.
00:48:58.640 --> 00:48:59.840
We fight for the ball.
00:49:00.000 --> 00:49:02.160
It’s not the same contact
as in dance.
00:49:02.360 --> 00:49:05.280
We lift each other,
grab each other around the waist...
00:49:05.480 --> 00:49:06.720
It’s not quite like that.
00:49:07.274 --> 00:49:09.610
The people of the age
that we are worked with
00:49:09.611 --> 00:49:11.144
in this project,
now, this week,
00:49:11.145 --> 00:49:13.426
they have another way of thinking
about the body.
00:49:13.427 --> 00:49:17.572
Because the body is growing,
the body is changing. Boys and girls?
00:49:17.823 --> 00:49:23.940
So, already showing physicality
is for them strange.
00:50:08.960 --> 00:50:10.360
Today is the third day.
00:50:10.560 --> 00:50:14.960
We've done quite a large part
of the beginning
00:50:15.200 --> 00:50:16.880
but now part's left
00:50:17.040 --> 00:50:21.080
where we put the boys on the one side
and the girls on the other.
00:50:21.280 --> 00:50:25.320
Then we'll put them together and
we'll only have the last part left.
00:50:25.480 --> 00:50:29.600
Today we want to make the girls
work with me for an hour
00:50:29.760 --> 00:50:32.160
and the boys work over here.
00:50:33.560 --> 00:50:35.680
We're going to do it really slowly.
00:50:35.840 --> 00:50:39.000
This choreography doesn’t need
a lot of action.
00:50:39.120 --> 00:50:40.720
It’s really intimate.
00:50:40.792 --> 00:50:44.843
Ok! We have one hour
to make something wonderful.
00:50:45.005 --> 00:50:48.256
Something incredible, wonderful.
00:50:49.086 --> 00:50:51.887
So when the girls come back
and they see you boys,
00:50:51.888 --> 00:50:53.842
then they should be like?
00:50:54.492 --> 00:50:56.897
Yes!
That should be!
00:50:56.981 --> 00:51:01.570
One, two, three, four?
Again.
00:51:01.571 --> 00:51:04.429
One, two, three, four?
00:51:04.749 --> 00:51:08.021
One, two, three, four?
00:51:08.022 --> 00:51:08.852
Ok.
00:51:09.280 --> 00:51:11.280
In this choreography, at this point,
00:51:11.440 --> 00:51:14.760
you are the girls who have been caught
00:51:15.040 --> 00:51:16.280
and are in a room
00:51:16.480 --> 00:51:19.840
and have been sold
or are going to be sold
00:51:20.000 --> 00:51:23.640
and they have to show...
of course, they don’t want that.
00:51:23.840 --> 00:51:27.480
They are used until they actually die.
00:51:27.840 --> 00:51:30.240
What I do want
is to touch on this topic
00:51:30.440 --> 00:51:33.720
in a very delicate, sensitive way,
00:51:33.880 --> 00:51:38.320
because I think
these girls need our support.
00:51:42.200 --> 00:51:46.640
You don’t want to be a soldier.
You don’t want to kill your parents.
00:51:46.800 --> 00:51:50.040
If you don’t kill your parents,
I'll kill you.
00:51:51.400 --> 00:51:53.200
That happens in the world.
00:52:05.714 --> 00:52:08.153
In the schools
we have to sit like this.
00:52:09.409 --> 00:52:12.398
Children must to be able to move,
use their joints.
00:52:12.399 --> 00:52:15.851
This is what you got,
you have to use it.
00:52:16.134 --> 00:52:20.215
And with dance we can show
that you can move
00:52:20.216 --> 00:52:21.978
that you can be like this.
00:52:21.979 --> 00:52:24.103
It expresses a lot.
00:52:24.330 --> 00:52:30.260
That you are allowed to communicate
with your body.
00:52:30.771 --> 00:52:34.660
And this communication is important.
00:52:35.299 --> 00:52:39.783
Because without communication
people just go?
00:52:41.554 --> 00:52:43.782
We will die in one generation
00:52:44.065 --> 00:52:46.471
because if people don't communicate
with each other,
00:52:46.472 --> 00:52:48.755
how could people fall in love
with each other?
00:52:57.770 --> 00:52:59.389
One, two, three, four.
00:52:59.390 --> 00:53:00.401
Stand!
00:53:01.170 --> 00:53:02.344
Go! Run!
00:53:03.674 --> 00:53:04.719
Stand!
00:53:04.798 --> 00:53:06.306
Go, go, go!
00:53:06.372 --> 00:53:07.568
Ibrahim up!
00:53:11.723 --> 00:53:12.823
Stand!
00:53:15.143 --> 00:53:17.568
Slowly down?spread out!
00:53:25.720 --> 00:53:29.180
Five, Six, Seven, Up!
00:53:29.280 --> 00:53:32.482
One, two, three, four?
00:53:32.483 --> 00:53:36.052
And, One, two, three, four?
00:53:37.120 --> 00:53:40.280
The girls show
00:53:42.120 --> 00:53:45.040
what some girls suffer
00:53:45.240 --> 00:53:48.080
as sex slaves.
00:53:49.040 --> 00:53:50.680
We look down at the floor
00:53:50.880 --> 00:53:56.480
because they feel sad and are
embarrassed they have to do such work.
00:53:56.680 --> 00:54:00.360
They have no choice.
They have been forced to.
00:54:01.160 --> 00:54:02.480
Look up!
00:54:03.800 --> 00:54:07.240
I do my eyes, I put lipstick on.
00:54:07.520 --> 00:54:09.520
I put my rouge on.
00:54:11.720 --> 00:54:14.480
I put my earrings on.
00:54:16.960 --> 00:54:19.240
We pull our dresses up.
00:54:19.440 --> 00:54:21.080
We let them go.
00:54:21.320 --> 00:54:24.640
We gather our hair in a bun.
00:54:24.800 --> 00:54:26.840
We turn around and let it go.
00:54:27.000 --> 00:54:32.040
? We stand on tip-toes and pretend
we are walking on high heels.
00:54:32.240 --> 00:54:35.160
Girls are not even ten years old
00:54:35.360 --> 00:54:37.800
and are already walking
on high heels...
00:54:39.440 --> 00:54:42.680
Maybe it won't reach or be useful
to some people but to others
00:54:42.840 --> 00:54:47.240
it might do
and it might make them think.
00:54:47.440 --> 00:54:50.880
They might start doing something,
start helping.
00:54:53.360 --> 00:54:56.480
I was very touched today by seeing
00:54:56.640 --> 00:55:01.160
two students
that are like chalk and cheese.
00:55:01.360 --> 00:55:03.160
They're in the same classroom
00:55:03.360 --> 00:55:06.480
and don’t interact at all,
having to form a team,
00:55:06.640 --> 00:55:09.720
holding hands to catch a boy
who was falling backwards.
00:55:09.755 --> 00:55:11.240
I think it’s fantastic.
00:55:25.200 --> 00:55:28.600
A lot of roles are being broken.
When you start a different activity
00:55:28.760 --> 00:55:30.600
with a different group,
your role may be
00:55:30.800 --> 00:55:32.160
completely different.
00:55:32.360 --> 00:55:34.360
They are seeing themselves in roles
00:55:34.520 --> 00:55:39.000
in they wouldn't see themselves in
under different circumstances.
00:55:39.200 --> 00:55:42.000
I think they're beginning to realise
a lot of stuff.
00:55:42.240 --> 00:55:47.920
Try a shirt with a pair of trousers or
a t-shirt with a pair of trousers.
00:55:48.120 --> 00:55:49.520
Two items each one.
00:55:49.680 --> 00:55:52.760
It won't be easy,
but I'll explain as we go along.
00:55:53.280 --> 00:55:54.640
Everything OK?
00:55:56.240 --> 00:55:59.080
It's a choreography.
You're not going to a party.
00:55:59.600 --> 00:56:02.320
There was a moment, at home,
00:56:02.520 --> 00:56:05.120
I said to myself,
this is as far as it goes.
00:56:05.320 --> 00:56:07.560
I'm not going to suffer any more
00:56:07.720 --> 00:56:10.080
or pay attention
to what others think of me.
00:56:10.280 --> 00:56:12.520
I'm doing my thing
and I'm really happy
00:56:12.680 --> 00:56:15.160
about everything I'm achieving.
00:56:26.400 --> 00:56:31.720
Well, you know l’ve been put
in another grade, don’t you?
00:56:32.000 --> 00:56:35.720
Well, imagine how much harder
they’ve made it for me.
00:56:35.920 --> 00:56:38.120
And dancing, and all that, with them?
00:56:38.320 --> 00:56:44.120
Good, that’s good.
But staying there,
00:56:44.320 --> 00:56:50.360
listening to the teacher, bored,
you don’t even know what to do.
00:56:50.520 --> 00:56:53.520
You take out a book
and instead of listening
00:56:53.680 --> 00:56:55.920
because you don’t know what to do
00:56:56.120 --> 00:56:58.040
because you’ve been away
for a few days
00:56:58.240 --> 00:57:00.520
you grab a piece of paper
and start doodling.
00:57:00.680 --> 00:57:03.680
The teacher comes along,
and asks you what you’re doing
00:57:03.840 --> 00:57:05.080
and you say: "Nothing. "
00:57:05.600 --> 00:57:10.840
You show her the drawing you’ve done
and you say, look, l’ve done this.
00:57:11.280 --> 00:57:13.400
And the teacher answers:
00:57:14.480 --> 00:57:17.200
"And don’t you have
anything else to do?"
00:57:17.800 --> 00:57:20.240
And you answer no.
00:57:21.000 --> 00:57:22.640
And why is that?
00:57:23.240 --> 00:57:25.720
Because I haven’t been at school.
00:57:31.880 --> 00:57:35.160
Well, you’ve come to dance every day.
00:57:35.360 --> 00:57:37.360
Go to class every day.
00:57:38.520 --> 00:57:43.640
There is work you can do without
passing your exams, you know?
00:57:43.800 --> 00:57:45.240
Yeah, McDonald's.
00:57:45.440 --> 00:57:48.280
No, not McDonald's.
Cleaning houses.
00:57:50.240 --> 00:57:53.040
Taking care
of another family's children.
00:57:53.720 --> 00:57:57.360
McDonalds... what a crappy place!
00:57:57.800 --> 00:58:00.600
I think you’re going nowhere
like this.
00:58:01.120 --> 00:58:03.480
- Quite frankly.
? I am, I am.
00:58:05.240 --> 00:58:09.320
Do you usually go to McDonald's?
00:58:09.480 --> 00:58:11.880
I never go, never.
00:58:13.360 --> 00:58:16.400
? I have, once or twice.
– I never go.
00:58:30.466 --> 00:58:32.669
As it comes up until here.
00:58:37.290 --> 00:58:38.866
These things goes away.
00:58:39.019 --> 00:58:40.366
So we see them from there, no?
00:58:42.726 --> 00:58:45.650
- Go down to the dress room and stairs.
- Ok.
00:59:05.280 --> 00:59:08.080
How was dance at school, Aitor?
Was it good?
00:59:08.440 --> 00:59:11.240
? Yes.
– Is that all you're going to tell me?
00:59:19.760 --> 00:59:23.120
In the end, you want to give everyone
your attention. You see a group
00:59:23.320 --> 00:59:25.560
and suddenly you see someone
who stands out.
00:59:25.720 --> 00:59:28.160
As if a big cloud
was covering everyone
00:59:28.360 --> 00:59:31.160
and the lead dancer appeared.
00:59:31.640 --> 00:59:36.080
A boy who sits in class,
never asks any questions,
00:59:36.280 --> 00:59:41.080
who finds it hard to participate,
and suddenly... There he is, alone.
00:59:46.053 --> 00:59:48.645
We also can leave the piece
till here.
00:59:48.992 --> 00:59:52.390
But we don't want to send
the audience home crying.
00:59:52.680 --> 00:59:55.680
But we don't want to, because
we don't think life is like that.
00:59:56.039 --> 00:59:57.228
Number one, falls.
00:59:57.320 --> 00:59:59.120
We always want to bring hope
00:59:59.320 --> 01:00:02.080
and the will to fight
for a better world.
01:00:02.115 --> 01:00:02.581
Number two.
01:00:02.797 --> 01:00:08.906
From the beginning up until now
it has been about oppression.
01:00:09.986 --> 01:00:11.704
Now, we want to turn that.
01:00:12.310 --> 01:00:15.839
Now, we want to see
the beauty and the joy.
01:00:16.972 --> 01:00:17.816
Number three.
01:00:18.184 --> 01:00:19.165
Life!
01:00:23.055 --> 01:00:24.188
Stand ready?
01:00:28.323 --> 01:00:30.341
Put it all in the movement!
01:00:33.679 --> 01:00:34.457
Silence here!
01:00:42.320 --> 01:00:45.680
I was sure the girls would be easier
01:00:45.840 --> 01:00:48.120
and the boys would have more problems.
01:00:48.320 --> 01:00:52.000
What with their manly roles
and such like...
01:00:57.440 --> 01:00:59.600
Higher!
Higher!
01:01:00.720 --> 01:01:03.640
My circle,
this circle I hang out with.
01:01:03.840 --> 01:01:06.200
My group of friends.
They're all so shy...
01:01:06.400 --> 01:01:08.720
Because boys
don't know how to dance...
01:01:08.880 --> 01:01:10.760
But there came a point
01:01:11.000 --> 01:01:12.840
when I said to myself, what the hell
01:01:13.040 --> 01:01:15.160
I can do better,
I'll move away from them
01:01:15.360 --> 01:01:17.800
and then, every day, I moved
a bit further forward.
01:01:17.960 --> 01:01:19.960
Roberth suddenly appeared
from nowhere.
01:01:20.160 --> 01:01:25.280
Because we hadn't told him
to be at the front. But he...
01:01:25.440 --> 01:01:29.920
I don't know, he ended up at the front
and he was so confident and clear,
01:01:30.400 --> 01:01:32.280
so absorbed by what he had to do,
01:01:32.320 --> 01:01:37.320
we said: No, no, stay at the front.
Stay there, you belong there..
01:01:37.355 --> 01:01:39.197
Don't wait to the performance.
01:01:39.359 --> 01:01:40.838
Don't wait to the end.
01:01:41.131 --> 01:01:42.815
Start showing it now.
01:01:43.572 --> 01:01:46.488
So that we see like?
Wow!
01:01:47.560 --> 01:01:50.880
I'm really looking forward to going
to see them in their final show.
01:01:51.040 --> 01:01:52.720
I'm really looking forward to it.
01:02:08.080 --> 01:02:10.252
Oh please, shut up!
01:02:10.544 --> 01:02:13.157
You've got a huge, huge problem.
01:02:13.991 --> 01:02:17.253
You don't learn
because you don't listen.
01:02:21.379 --> 01:02:24.230
I am so tired, too much.
01:02:28.201 --> 01:02:30.631
I can no more.
I can no more with you.
01:02:31.000 --> 01:02:33.744
Do what you want.
I can no more.
01:02:31.000 --> 01:02:34.320
Do whatever you want!
I can't continue with you.
01:02:52.040 --> 01:02:55.440
We all need a bit of a boost
in our lives. Good things.
01:02:55.640 --> 01:02:59.680
To be given things with love
and experience good things.
01:03:00.161 --> 01:03:04.385
Ok, we are going to do
something different.
01:03:04.399 --> 01:03:07.671
You are just going to sit
and watch.
01:03:08.200 --> 01:03:10.720
No matter what it is:
dancing, painting...
01:03:10.880 --> 01:03:12.640
I think everyone needs it.
01:03:12.920 --> 01:03:15.240
What we do through dance
is give them just that.
01:03:15.440 --> 01:03:17.000
We bring them a different element
01:03:17.200 --> 01:03:19.280
which makes them react
in a different way.
01:03:20.240 --> 01:03:25.760
I didn't expect
the change to be so obvious.
01:03:25.920 --> 01:03:27.120
But it has been.
01:03:27.320 --> 01:03:32.240
Because when I left,
I had everything terribly done
01:03:32.440 --> 01:03:36.600
and when I came back,
was able to pick up dancing again.
01:03:36.760 --> 01:03:41.520
Whether you like it or not,
you have to be next to someone,
01:03:41.720 --> 01:03:45.960
collaborate with him,
because it's everyone's duty.
01:03:46.160 --> 01:03:50.760
And I believe
this has not only helped me join,
01:03:50.920 --> 01:03:54.360
it has helped more people,
and I've seen it.
01:04:06.585 --> 01:04:11.000
You can imagine, you can feel
in yourselves, what you saw.
01:04:11.846 --> 01:04:13.826
That's the beauty on dance.
01:04:32.600 --> 01:04:34.320
See you tomorrow.
01:04:38.876 --> 01:04:40.388
Do you think it was ok?
01:04:40.389 --> 01:04:45.351
Ok, it's always those moments where,
they really talk a lot, but?
01:04:45.352 --> 01:04:47.645
For some people, it's always
like this. But in general?
01:04:47.646 --> 01:04:48.912
In general it was ok.
01:04:48.913 --> 01:04:50.595
Yeah, yeah.
I think also they need it.
01:04:50.596 --> 01:04:52.631
They need it.
I think they really need it.
01:04:52.632 --> 01:04:55.941
From the girls I saw some of them
they just came up today.
01:04:56.383 --> 01:04:59.102
Yes, from the four
that where just carrying?
01:04:59.103 --> 01:05:02.801
There were two
that were: "No, no, no?"
01:05:02.802 --> 01:05:04.749
But in the end they do and then?
01:05:04.750 --> 01:05:07.268
The moment they feel
they can go up there,
01:05:07.482 --> 01:05:09.215
you see them start shining.
01:05:09.276 --> 01:05:10.773
Some people are part of the group
01:05:10.774 --> 01:05:13.949
and all of a sudden
you see them? Bam! Coming out!
01:05:14.108 --> 01:05:17.477
And it's like:
"Why didn't I see you before?".
01:05:17.478 --> 01:05:21.301
But I think because we see more
the ones who are always disturbing.
01:05:21.302 --> 01:05:22.176
We see them more.
01:05:22.177 --> 01:05:25.478
These other ones stay a little bit
like waiting for their moment
01:05:25.479 --> 01:05:28.387
and, suddenly, the door is open and?
they go out.
01:05:28.388 --> 01:05:31.388
They get strength and they go through.
01:05:31.439 --> 01:05:33.845
And somehow, it's wonderful because,
they are not the ones
01:05:33.846 --> 01:05:36.232
who are always front
for something else.
01:05:36.249 --> 01:05:39.170
And here they do like?
They want to really go out.
01:05:39.171 --> 01:05:45.187
Even, this, little John.
He wants to do it very good.
01:05:46.962 --> 01:05:51.228
Today, I find today it was really
a pity that Itxaso wasn't there.
01:05:51.229 --> 01:05:53.286
For me?
I must really say?
01:05:53.287 --> 01:05:54.984
- Is she coming tomorrow?
- I don't know.
01:05:54.985 --> 01:05:56.628
They don't know if she'll come.
They don't know.
01:05:56.629 --> 01:05:58.854
- Oh God?
- I think that the thing is
01:05:58.855 --> 01:06:00.911
that for her it was already a lot.
01:06:00.912 --> 01:06:03.516
- She did super lots of steps.
- Yes, yes.
01:06:03.517 --> 01:06:04.459
Super lots of steps.
01:06:04.460 --> 01:06:08.931
And we don't know how much
she can deal with it until the end.
01:06:08.932 --> 01:06:15.097
Or if it was for her capacity?
maybe it was really the maximum.
01:06:15.296 --> 01:06:18.586
But maybe she comes tomorrow.
Some people, they do this, no?
01:07:25.705 --> 01:07:28.384
From when I see,
from last Monday,
01:07:28.385 --> 01:07:30.742
when we started,
till now,
01:07:31.597 --> 01:07:40.090
you've come a long way.
You did a lot of work, really.
01:07:40.686 --> 01:07:43.932
And you really picked it up.
01:07:44.952 --> 01:07:48.439
There's one step more to do.
Performance.
01:07:51.000 --> 01:07:52.480
I have to tell you something.
01:07:52.680 --> 01:07:57.440
Nervousness is very treacherous.
Nervousness is treacherous.
01:07:57.640 --> 01:08:01.680
A new place, a new space,
we have to conquer it.
01:08:01.782 --> 01:08:04.263
- We do it together.
- Ok. And then, after you go upstairs?
01:08:04.264 --> 01:08:05.282
I go upstairs?
01:08:06.296 --> 01:08:10.360
We just have seen
that you can do that.
01:08:14.052 --> 01:08:16.060
We have to fit?
We have to do everything?
01:08:16.095 --> 01:08:18.960
No, no...
Be careful with the stage.
01:08:19.160 --> 01:08:20.920
It gets dirty very quickly.
01:08:26.520 --> 01:08:28.720
If you concentrate,
we'll help you, OK?
01:08:32.720 --> 01:08:36.400
Welcome to Sarobe, the place
01:08:36.600 --> 01:08:40.160
where you are going to perform
01:08:40.840 --> 01:08:44.720
in two hours,
or two and a half hours' time.
01:08:44.880 --> 01:08:49.680
All I want is for Idoia to be with
a friend who can take care of her.
01:08:49.880 --> 01:08:52.480
That's what I want, OK? And...
01:08:52.800 --> 01:08:56.560
With Itxaso, as well. Make sure
you're comfortable. OK, Itxaso?
01:08:56.760 --> 01:08:59.640
We are going to help her because
she wasn't here on Thursday,
01:08:59.840 --> 01:09:03.360
so we want you to help her
get into the swing of things.
01:09:06.520 --> 01:09:10.680
We've pushed them a lot, we've
tried to take them to breaking point
01:09:10.840 --> 01:09:16.080
and there's a point where they
take it away. The show is now theirs.
01:09:16.123 --> 01:09:20.735
You're going to give the audience
a gift, a present.
01:09:21.264 --> 01:09:22.718
Something beautiful.
01:09:23.825 --> 01:09:26.239
When you give something beautiful,
01:09:26.724 --> 01:09:29.083
you will get back something beautiful.
01:09:30.064 --> 01:09:32.000
Be generous within your heart.
Very generous.
01:09:32.200 --> 01:09:34.080
And with your bodies too.
01:09:34.440 --> 01:09:36.520
Make-up is strictly forbidden!
01:09:37.280 --> 01:09:38.360
None at all!
01:09:38.520 --> 01:09:41.160
You know what you are performing...
01:09:41.821 --> 01:09:44.923
At that moment,
when you are all on stage
01:09:45.072 --> 01:09:48.911
we can't do anything anymore for you.
It's you who have to do.
01:09:50.398 --> 01:09:54.081
Be as beautiful and strong
as you can be.
01:09:55.411 --> 01:10:00.074
And say to yourself: "We are gonna do
a wonderful performance!"
01:10:02.233 --> 01:10:04.258
Imagine the piece in your head.
01:10:08.355 --> 01:10:11.385
You all are very beautiful
in doing this.
01:10:11.480 --> 01:10:12.749
Remember this.
01:10:12.755 --> 01:10:16.375
You all are beautiful on stage.
01:10:16.451 --> 01:10:17.610
Not only on stage.
01:10:17.611 --> 01:10:20.368
You have something beautiful in you.
Show it.
01:10:23.760 --> 01:10:24.960
Breathe.
01:10:25.840 --> 01:10:27.080
Serious.
01:10:28.840 --> 01:10:30.360
Very serious, very stern.
01:10:30.560 --> 01:10:32.400
Very serious, please, very stern.
01:10:32.600 --> 01:10:34.080
Don't touch your hair.
01:10:36.400 --> 01:10:39.000
No talking. Go into your own world.
01:10:41.126 --> 01:10:41.913
Afraid.
01:10:42.412 --> 01:10:43.748
They are afraid.
01:10:44.327 --> 01:10:48.395
They are anxious, and nervous.
01:10:50.732 --> 01:10:53.143
I would be as well in their situation.
01:10:53.991 --> 01:10:56.479
But also, let's do it!
01:11:13.640 --> 01:11:17.280
Our fears are lurking, along with
our beliefs, being teachers as such.
01:11:17.480 --> 01:11:19.920
Break off
and be a little transgressive.
01:11:20.120 --> 01:11:21.400
We have to start somewhere,
01:11:21.560 --> 01:11:23.920
because we can see this is not
getting any better.
01:11:24.120 --> 01:11:25.960
The lack of motivation
among youngsters
01:11:25.995 --> 01:11:27.160
their lack of interest.
01:11:27.360 --> 01:11:29.240
So, something has to be be done.
01:11:29.640 --> 01:11:30.960
Something should be done.
01:11:37.880 --> 01:11:41.760
I think it would be more difficult
among adults than teenagers.
01:11:41.960 --> 01:11:45.640
Because we all have our masks
well in place.
01:11:45.840 --> 01:11:47.480
I hope youngsters nowadays
01:11:47.680 --> 01:11:52.520
do things naturally, in freedom,
01:11:52.800 --> 01:11:54.520
with a different vitality.
01:12:21.440 --> 01:12:23.080
I don't understand success as such.
01:12:23.280 --> 01:12:26.400
I guess success is accepting failure.
01:12:26.560 --> 01:12:29.000
That's the way I see it.
01:12:30.040 --> 01:12:33.600
Life is like crossing the desert,
01:12:33.800 --> 01:12:35.360
there are many difficulties
01:12:35.560 --> 01:12:38.480
to be encountered.
01:12:38.720 --> 01:12:41.160
I think that is what we should teach.
01:14:09.760 --> 01:14:12.880
Oh! My girl!
She's done the whole thing
01:14:13.040 --> 01:14:14.480
in the end!
Everything, everything!
01:14:14.560 --> 01:14:16.680
You've gone through the whole thing!
You've done everything!
01:14:16.880 --> 01:14:19.560
It was great to be there
with everyone, wasn't it?
01:14:22.320 --> 01:14:24.680
Take care, lots of care, won't you?
01:14:26.640 --> 01:14:28.760
Well, back to routine.
01:14:30.000 --> 01:14:35.040
Not on Monday or Tuesday,
and we'll be hungover for a while
01:14:35.400 --> 01:14:38.080
but, in the end, you're at a school;
01:14:38.520 --> 01:14:41.520
exams, having to revise for them,...
01:14:41.680 --> 01:14:43.440
And we'll get back into the routine
01:14:43.640 --> 01:14:46.240
no matter what.
But something will linger...
01:14:47.240 --> 01:14:48.680
Something has to linger.
01:14:48.800 --> 01:14:50.080
It will.
01:14:51.440 --> 01:14:52.800
I'm sure.
01:15:03.991 --> 01:15:06.886
In five days you can do
as much as you can do.
01:15:08.885 --> 01:15:10.344
After these five days,
01:15:10.345 --> 01:15:12.304
one week later,
you may say to yourself
01:15:12.305 --> 01:15:13.887
"Why didn't we do that?"
01:15:14.726 --> 01:15:16.457
Maybe there was no time for that.
01:15:16.458 --> 01:15:18.586
Maybe we were not aware
at that moment.
01:15:19.711 --> 01:15:23.932
It's the same in your life.
01:15:24.771 --> 01:15:27.063
You can do as much as you can do.
01:15:28.538 --> 01:15:32.771
And if you put yourself to it,
you can do a lot.
01:15:36.960 --> 01:15:41.520
I don't think a structure can be
changed in five days.
01:15:41.720 --> 01:15:45.080
You can't change a way of life
or a mindset.
01:15:45.280 --> 01:15:49.360
But you can plant a seed
that starts to sprout.
01:15:49.520 --> 01:15:52.800
And it can be planted deep, very deep,
because it's an experience.
01:15:53.240 --> 01:15:55.160
And experience makes you grow.
01:15:55.283 --> 01:15:59.026
If people can dance together,
people can live together.
01:16:02.520 --> 01:16:05.000
My name is Wilfried.
l’m coreographer.
01:16:05.200 --> 01:16:08.600
My name is Amaya.
l’m ballerina and l’m from Spain.
01:16:09.240 --> 01:16:11.800
Who nows here what is dance-theater?
