George Lee is an 88-year-old blackjack dealer who still works five days a week, a beloved figure in the pit of a downtown Las Vegas casino. None of the card players — and few of his coworkers — know of this humble man’s astonishing background: a child dance prodigy and refugee from Shanghai who became a teenage sensation in the original staging of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker exactly 70 years ago, performing the “Tea” divertissement. George’s story is uniquely American: an immigrant striving to prove himself as an Asian pioneer in ballet and on Broadway, where he was cast by Gene Kelly for the original production of Flower Drum Song. TEN TIMES BETTER is a tale of talent and perseverance in the face of hardship, and a reminder of the extraordinary stories behind the nameless faces all around us.

00:03:37:01 - 00:03:39:21
We had to do these turns at the end before ...
00:03:39:21 - 00:03:42:21
HE come in. How many you want to try today?
00:03:43:05 - 00:03:46:15

those days is gone. Yeah.
Adele: 00:03:58:17 - 00:04:02:00
But you had those days
00:04:03:13 - 00:04:07:09
No but in those days, there weren't that many Asian dancers at all.
00:04:07:12 - 00:04:10:12
So you're one of the pioneers.
Jaime: 00:04:15:14 - 00:04:17:21
the more we tried them, quicker
00:04:17:21 - 00:04:20:21
and tighter here,
Walter: the better he got. Yes. Jaime: 00:04:21:21 - 00:04:24:20
always raising the level. Yes.
Walter: 00:04:24:20 - 00:04:26:13
I never saw anybody jump so high.
00:05:41:06 - 00:05:43:14
I were born in Hong Kong,
00:05:43:14 - 00:05:46:01
my mom was in the Warsaw Opera.
00:05:46:01 - 00:05:48:13
She was a semi-soloist.
00:05:48:13 - 00:05:52:08
because she wasn't performing dance at all and she traveled with the group.
00:05:52:22 - 00:05:55:22
my father was a Chinese zuckerbrot he speaks,
00:05:56:07 - 00:05:59:07
I don't know, seven languages, something like that.
00:06:17:11 - 00:06:19:08
my mother still taught me Polish still.
00:06:19:08 - 00:06:22:08
And in the home, we speak Russian.
00:06:23:20 - 00:06:27:13
we moved from Hong Kong to Shanghai, 1941
00:07:00:10 - 00:07:03:10
Find in Shanghai.
00:07:03:21 - 00:07:07:03
I was going to all kind of club this the Russian club,
00:07:07:16 - 00:07:10:16
white Russian, red Russian and Polish
00:07:11:01 - 00:07:14:01
and I always perform for them all
00:07:14:08 - 00:07:15:00
and whatever.
00:07:15:00 - 00:07:17:14
When I work in nightclub, we get rice from them.
00:07:17:14 - 00:07:19:08
So we can have some rice and lamb.
00:07:19:08 - 00:07:22:08
And he said the money
so we survived that way and
00:07:23:14 - 00:07:26:07
There's
no food for the regular Chinese people.
00:07:26:07 - 00:07:29:07
they dying on the street.
00:07:33:05 - 00:07:36:02
after show we got to go home
00:07:36:02 - 00:07:37:04
my mother kill me.
00:07:37:04 - 00:07:40:04
Her bed,
And then the morning I got to get up
00:07:40:14 - 00:07:44:04
10:00 to go to the ballet class, and that's with all the Russian.
00:07:44:07 - 00:07:47:07
People are taking class, they are professionals
00:07:47:15 - 00:07:50:05
and they've got to be there, catch up with them.
00:07:50:05 - 00:07:53:22
one day I was taking classes and they put towel around me
00:07:54:15 - 00:07:58:16
we do Grand Prix, but and you cannot move because the towels around there
00:07:59:12 - 00:08:02:00
and that's where you got to do one spot,
00:08:02:00 - 00:08:05:00
you got to be perfect.
00:08:06:06 - 00:08:08:17
when the war ends, like 45
00:08:08:17 - 00:08:11:17
My father one to come to see us,
00:08:12:04 - 00:08:13:14
they got to go through the mountain.
00:08:13:14 - 00:08:15:00
And the truck. fell through
00:08:16:15 - 00:08:19:13
my father fell and hit his head.
00:08:19:13 - 00:08:22:13
And he killed innocent.
00:08:22:18 - 00:08:24:16
That's all I know.
00:08:24:16 - 00:08:27:16
So, no, we never see him. So.
00:08:29:01 - 00:08:31:14
we perform for the American clubs
00:08:31:14 - 00:08:35:05
we get $15 or $20 with those days, 00:08:35:10 - 00:08:38:10
this is a good money, you
00:08:38:23 - 00:08:41:22
And then for the night we got to move again.
00:08:42:12 - 00:08:45:12
national Chinese
and the Communist, they're still fighting.
00:08:45:21 - 00:08:48:21
And they were moving to Shanghai.
00:08:49:05 - 00:08:52:06
So the US know who won to leave because my mother
00:08:52:06 - 00:08:55:09
afraid with the communists,
they don't know what's going to happen.
00:08:55:09 - 00:08:59:16
she say, we got to live
and that the nation took us out
00:09:04:21 - 00:09:07:21
so we moved to the refugee camp
00:09:08:06 - 00:09:10:14
they saw us was only four months,
00:09:10:14 - 00:09:13:14
but we stuck there for two years,
00:09:14:15 - 00:09:16:06
and I don't do nothing really,
00:09:16:06 - 00:09:19:14
because the weather is hot no dancing at all.
00:09:20:13 - 00:09:21:19
in the camp.
00:09:21:19 - 00:09:24:22
They form a school
and they make us go to the school
00:09:26:09 - 00:09:29:02
only what is great in the Philippines.
00:09:29:02 - 00:09:32:01
You can go to the jungle, you can pick a banana.
00:09:32:01 - 00:09:33:02
It's right there. Right.
00:09:33:02 - 00:09:36:02
The in. Their thing is beautiful.
00:09:36:07 - 00:09:38:23
living on ten is a different story.
00:09:38:23 - 00:09:41:23
And the
when this raining day and forget it
00:09:42:18 - 00:09:44:01
in the camp.
00:09:44:01 - 00:09:48:11
most of them white people,
There's no Chinese guy who was me
00:09:48:23 - 00:09:51:23
on the one half and half,
00:09:52:00 - 00:09:56:03
that so I can go to Australia because Chinese
00:09:56:20 - 00:09:59:08
those days they wouldn't like Asian.
00:09:59:08 - 00:10:03:04
So then my mother said I just go and leave the kid here and I'm here.
00:10:03:18 - 00:10:06:09
So she stayed. So that's we stay.
00:10:06:09 - 00:10:09:09
And then until we get the chance, to leave
00:10:10:03 - 00:10:11:04
like I say, we're lucky.
00:10:12:21 - 00:10:14:02
my father's friend.
00:10:14:02 - 00:10:17:02
sponsored us to come to the United States.
00:10:19:05 - 00:10:21:19
And my mother warned me one thing.
00:10:21:19 - 00:10:24:21
My mother warned me, You are going to America,
00:10:25:04 - 00:10:28:15
these old white people,
and you better be ten times better.
00:10:30:10 - 00:10:34:23
Remember that ten times better because you cannot match to them.
00:10:34:23 - 00:10:36:19
You got to be ten times better.
00:10:36:19 - 00:10:39:11
And that stuck in my head.
00:10:39:11 - 00:10:43:12
So I was anything
I do the best I can ten times better
00:10:43:12 - 00:10:46:12
than anybody else can do.
00:11:13:16 - 00:11:14:07
those days.
00:11:14:07 - 00:11:14:14
I know.
00:11:14:14 - 00:11:18:10
You know, I used to wear tights, you see when I in China where everybody should,
00:11:47:03 - 00:11:50:15
and the teacher book so strict, And say, what's the name?
00:11:50:15 - 00:11:52:18
The combination.
00:11:52:18 - 00:11:54:14
I was panic
00:11:54:14 - 00:11:56:16
because I couldn't
think of the combination there.
00:11:56:16 - 00:11:59:21
So I said,
we Well, going to experiment in Russian.
00:12:00:04 - 00:12:02:18
No, no. Separately,
no mean. And thank you.
00:12:02:18 - 00:12:05:17
Look at me.
We speak Russian. You walk away.
00:12:19:13 - 00:12:19:22
us, you know, I am, well, first
00:12:19:22 - 00:12:22:22
I must see George
Balanchine is when I was in school. 00:12:22:23 - 00:12:26:07
And he always come to the office and talking to all the Russian
00:12:26:08 - 00:12:29:19
because the old Russian, the one, But I really don't have much
00:12:30:07 - 00:12:31:09
contact with him much.
00:12:31:09 - 00:12:34:09
And I'm, of course, know his family.
00:12:34:19 - 00:12:36:09
Balanchine picked me up.
00:12:36:09 - 00:12:38:20
I said, Asian boy, for the Nutcracker.
00:12:38:20 - 00:12:40:15
So I have the one Asian boy.
00:12:40:15 - 00:12:43:15
So if you got to be good for the tea.
00:12:43:17 - 00:12:45:10
they say would come in the rehearsal.
00:12:45:10 - 00:12:47:22
I want you to do Chinese dance.
00:12:47:22 - 00:12:51:08
They're going to push you out in the box, the two girls, and they open up,
00:12:51:08 - 00:12:54:08
you pop out
00:12:58:08 - 00:13:00:02
Balanchine asked me why I can't do this.
00:13:00:02 - 00:13:00:20
I can't do that.
00:13:00:20 - 00:13:01:18
I can't do that.
00:13:01:18 - 00:13:03:23
What's good you can do?
00:13:03:23 - 00:13:05:16
So show him what I can do.
00:13:05:16 - 00:13:08:06
Oh, she does
Good. Are you going to put that in?
00:13:08:06 - 00:13:10:02
And he did that. with me.
00:13:10:02 - 00:13:12:17
Like I say, maybe 15 minutes.
00:13:14:05 - 00:13:17:12
I come
in and out during the dress rehearsal
00:13:17:22 - 00:13:21:13
and they put makeup on everybody makeup me
00:13:21:13 - 00:13:25:10
and all kind of yellow, yellow makeup, yellow and things like that.
00:13:25:18 - 00:13:27:04
And I come up in furniture.
00:13:27:04 - 00:13:29:19
What see, was there a do to him?
00:13:29:19 - 00:13:30:13
you don't. You do.
00:13:30:13 - 00:13:31:22
He is Chinese already. 00:13:31:22 - 00:13:35:02
When you meet him
more real look like like mask and I mean
00:13:35:09 - 00:13:39:04
they came of women and that was I.
00:13:39:06 - 00:13:41:13
It would have been lost in the details.
00:13:41:13 - 00:13:43:00
Okay. No, no, no, no, no.
00:13:43:00 - 00:13:45:20
No problem.
00:13:45:20 - 00:13:48:20
My mother is was very happy
00:13:49:02 - 00:13:50:23
I don't stumble. I don't do nothing.
00:13:50:23 - 00:13:53:11
I did everything perfectly.
00:13:53:11 - 00:13:55:21
And I think I did.
00:13:55:21 - 00:13:58:04
Okay.
00:13:58:04 - 00:14:01:13
George Lee, the Chinese voice in school,
00:14:01:14 - 00:14:05:16
American Ballet
with the original Chinese in Nutcracker.
00:14:05:18 - 00:14:06:23
And he was one
00:14:08:05 - 00:14:10:12
Balanchine,
choreographed a very Asian for him
00:14:10:12 - 00:14:14:14
that none of us have ever been able
the equal I mean, I knew I couldn't do it.
00:14:15:03 - 00:14:18:10
And nobody's done it
any better than I have seen him.
00:14:18:10 - 00:14:21:10
But George leading that, he was wonderful
00:14:23:06 - 00:14:25:00
went to the our Life magazine
00:14:25:00 - 00:14:29:14
to make a big publicity out there
I was one of them like in one to be
00:14:30:23 - 00:14:33:17
he used to do wonderful demo tours
00:14:33:17 - 00:14:36:17
with his Lauder,
picked up like a little round bone,
00:14:36:23 - 00:14:40:12
He would go up in the air, pull everything up, go around twice and land
00:14:40:17 - 00:14:41:21
on the floor like.
00:14:41:21 - 00:14:44:21
Like around Mom. Nobody ever know
00:14:45:01 - 00:14:48:01
Did you drive from Brooklyn?
00:14:49:10 - 00:14:50:13
After The Nutcracker.
00:14:50:13 - 00:14:57:01
I was hoping with membership with the New York City Ballet, but nothing happening.
00:14:57:08 - 00:14:59:18
But they get excuse, though. My name is short.
00:15:01:06 - 00:15:04:06
I'm Lee was short and that's it.
00:15:04:10 - 00:15:06:19
I mean,
00:15:06:19 - 00:15:09:18
vanishing those girls skinny and lonely.
00:15:09:18 - 00:15:12:14
I cannot be fit in
because they always looking as boy, six
00:15:12:14 - 00:15:16:10
foot tall, good looking
guy is no mean here Molly the Shuman.
00:15:16:10 - 00:15:19:10
I mean they don't need that
00:15:21:22 - 00:15:22:09
Andre
00:15:22:09 - 00:15:26:03
Gruevski was a principal dancer in the New York City Ballet,
00:15:26:11 - 00:15:29:11
and he was the one
who took me in under his wings.
00:15:30:09 - 00:15:35:00
Whenever he goes the tour, he takes me as opening thing and things like that.
00:15:35:00 - 00:15:38:00
And when I did the. 00:15:38:03 - 00:15:41:14
The one on the center park with all the star was there.
00:15:41:14 - 00:15:44:14
I was one of them,
00:16:15:05 - 00:16:16:21
Variety magazine
00:16:16:21 - 00:16:19:23
and they
say I auditioned for the Oriental dancers
00:16:20:19 - 00:16:23:19
the specifies Oriental that's why I win.
00:16:24:19 - 00:16:26:23
and they told me your audition, go
00:16:26:23 - 00:16:29:23
head to the Bluebird.
00:16:31:12 - 00:16:34:03
and everybody sitting there floor.
00:16:34:03 - 00:16:37:05
with this guy come from they don't do much ballet in
00:16:38:06 - 00:16:42:03
Asian kids, they're all just doing the old kind of jazz things.
00:16:42:18 - 00:16:43:17
they couldn't figure it out.
00:16:43:17 - 00:16:45:02
How could I do free bread.
00:16:45:02 - 00:16:47:23
No Chinese guy,
No flying around like that. 00:16:47:23 - 00:16:50:23
my style is is the Russian training.
00:16:51:09 - 00:16:55:10
And they're the one of the best for
the ballet, got to be everything perfect.
00:16:55:10 - 00:16:57:21
but but the show is the different thing.
00:16:57:21 - 00:16:59:14
You got to learn jazz.
00:16:59:14 - 00:17:03:19
Well, I was going home
waiting for the elevator Director.
00:17:03:19 - 00:17:08:01
Gene Kelly was come by and he saw me still talk to me and say,
00:17:08:14 - 00:17:11:19
George, you see,
why don't you take this job?
00:17:12:04 - 00:17:14:20
He know that I was.
I really want to ballet.
00:17:14:20 - 00:17:17:11
I know I don't know about anything about Broadway, Sean.
00:17:17:11 - 00:17:21:19
I mean, he was the one who said, Look, learn something, you
00:17:23:00 - 00:17:23:05
know?
00:17:23:05 - 00:17:24:09
Well, touch me, Broadway.
00:17:24:09 - 00:17:27:00
We and you can pay for it.
00:17:27:00 - 00:17:31:00
I talked to my mother
first about that and said, think about it.
00:17:31:00 - 00:17:33:06
And they say, well, we need make a living.
00:17:33:06 - 00:17:35:15
So my swell try is
00:17:35:15 - 00:17:41:01
the story is about the well, it's about the two generations of San Francisco,
00:17:41:02 - 00:17:44:22
the Chinese, the older generation,
which can understand the young generation,
00:17:45:12 - 00:17:47:18
younger generation,
which is going quite American,
00:17:47:18 - 00:17:49:07
can understand the older generation.
00:17:49:07 - 00:17:52:15
Out of it
comes a very delightful love story, a
00:18:03:07 - 00:18:38:23
and wah, wah
00:18:40:02 - 00:18:43:02
wah wah wah wah wah.
00:18:47:18 - 00:18:50:03
I'm like,
00:18:50:03 - 00:18:53:03
Yeah, pans
00:18:54:03 - 00:18:55:15
sound
00:18:55:15 - 00:18:57:13
that way.
00:18:57:13 - 00:19:03:14
I know you feel Oh,
00:19:16:19 - 00:19:20:11
I'm sure in a way
it's going to be a history for Broadway
00:19:20:11 - 00:19:26:04
because It was a big hit to a big hit because when we traveling, we did okay.
00:19:26:04 - 00:19:27:13
We all with houses back
00:19:30:16 - 00:19:33:16
My Lillian was black even on Broadway.
00:19:33:18 - 00:19:36:17
They can find that many Asian. That's why
00:19:36:17 - 00:19:40:08
and like I say, when we were going to like Tennessee or somewhere,
00:19:40:08 - 00:19:43:11
she didn't go with us because of racial thing.
00:19:44:12 - 00:19:46:23
So someone else to cover her understudy
00:19:46:23 - 00:19:50:21
was, I think, Filipino lady I went to Texas.
00:19:50:21 - 00:19:53:21
we did, the flower drum and we go out to eat.
00:19:54:09 - 00:19:58:08
I know walking around and then you know how the signs say, like Tony.
00:19:58:23 - 00:20:01:16
And I said, Oh, gee,
how can you go into to eat?
00:20:01:16 - 00:20:03:03
Of course I'm color.
00:20:03:03 - 00:20:06:12
No, that's why I thought No at that time no men say color.
00:20:06:12 - 00:20:08:09
I thought well I'm colored. No.
00:20:08:09 - 00:20:11:05
And so looking through the door and I see my jack,
00:20:11:05 - 00:20:15:00
so the little men, his Asian there he sit there
00:20:15:09 - 00:20:18:18
not drinking beer, I say
I figure he'd go India could go and
00:20:21:18 - 00:20:22:03
we've been
00:20:22:03 - 00:20:25:20
traveling from Broadway on the road to.
00:20:26:02 - 00:20:28:22
And I always tell
my editor never fell off,
00:20:28:22 - 00:20:32:14
and they were starting counting
2000 times, you know, one time before. 00:20:33:00 - 00:20:36:00
So in that one day, I was a little tired
00:20:36:04 - 00:20:39:17
and I was doing the variation
and do the hair turn and go to my knees.
00:20:39:23 - 00:20:42:10
And I touched the floor a little bit, were hidden.
00:20:42:10 - 00:20:45:18
And they all scream on those wings and say, he is human.
00:20:45:20 - 00:20:46:14
He is human.
00:20:46:14 - 00:20:49:14
He is not like a robot, he told me.
00:20:50:21 - 00:20:55:00
and then we come to Vegas in 61, the Thunderbird Hotel.
00:20:55:00 - 00:20:58:06
Was that nothing we come in
00:20:58:19 - 00:21:02:21
you race everything up the we went up we do our show
00:21:02:21 - 00:21:06:20
and we make a big splash my mother was very strict.
00:21:06:23 - 00:21:10:14
She wouldn't allow smoking, drinking Can you drink coffee?
00:21:10:22 - 00:21:14:18
when I 25 years old,
I went with the flower drum on the road 00:21:15:14 - 00:21:16:22
away from her mother.
00:21:16:22 - 00:21:18:17
That's my first cup of coffee I had.
00:21:22:02 - 00:21:25:02
my mother
00:22:14:02 - 00:22:17:05
and then again to the big history, which a big thing.
00:22:17:05 - 00:22:19:20
I mean, for me, Keep going. That's it.
00:22:19:20 - 00:22:21:06
I can do it.
00:22:21:06 - 00:22:24:06
I go on stage, I do it.
00:22:25:01 - 00:22:28:01
Debbie Now
writing was in the late seventies,
00:22:28:01 - 00:22:31:01
I think
00:22:32:09 - 00:22:35:09
we traveled to Florida or the place
00:22:36:21 - 00:22:39:21
I was the first Asian dancer on Broadway.
00:22:40:04 - 00:22:42:23
That was a good show.
00:22:42:23 - 00:22:44:18
Gretchen.
00:22:44:18 - 00:22:47:18
And they went to England, 00:22:47:22 - 00:22:48:02
show.
00:22:48:02 - 00:22:51:02
Ten of us.
00:22:57:05 - 00:22:57:18
was fun.
00:22:57:18 - 00:23:00:18
I enjoy
00:23:06:07 - 00:23:09:16
most of the Broadway show
when you go to audition is a cattle.
00:23:09:16 - 00:23:12:16
Call it's hard to get a job.
00:23:13:05 - 00:23:16:23
But I wasn't the one Asian around always in the audition.
00:23:16:23 - 00:23:19:23
They all knew me right away.
00:23:20:14 - 00:23:21:19
delay, my dancing.
00:23:21:19 - 00:23:23:00
They always keep me to the end.
00:23:23:00 - 00:23:26:16
And then they said, Well, sorry, George, in the tape, not the tape curse.
00:23:26:16 - 00:23:31:02
No. Where do I got to go through all this additional hours and hours?
00:23:31:05 - 00:23:31:22
I mean, for what?
00:23:49:04 - 00:23:49:21
the last show there
00:23:49:21 - 00:23:52:21
was out because they put in
00:23:53:02 - 00:23:56:02
and that was it.
00:24:06:03 - 00:24:06:16
The Broadway
00:24:06:16 - 00:24:09:17
show is no more
the same thing like the old days.
00:24:09:17 - 00:24:13:04
And I mean then dancing, real jazz and I mean things.
00:24:13:05 - 00:24:15:09
I know this is all wiggle wiggle again.
00:24:15:09 - 00:24:18:08
I mean,
00:24:20:12 - 00:24:23:04
and then you get it all the way down Mars.
00:24:23:04 - 00:24:26:04
We as gets by knocking on doors
00:24:27:20 - 00:24:29:08
all about.
00:24:29:08 - 00:24:31:13
everybody knows me. They call me Pop.
00:24:31:13 - 00:24:33:21
Not the all the kids Hi.
00:24:33:21 - 00:24:35:23
How are you?
00:24:35:23 - 00:24:37:12
Yeah. Yeah.
00:24:37:12 - 00:24:38:12
Thank you.
00:24:38:12 - 00:24:41:12
cleaning ladies and everybody they know me
00:24:55:02 - 00:25:06:00
were I'll call my mother up.
00:25:06:00 - 00:25:07:04
I'm going to stay.
00:25:07:04 - 00:25:09:19
And then my mother get mad
00:25:09:19 - 00:25:12:10
But I got to make a living.
00:25:12:10 - 00:25:55:06
I got to pay the bill Yes.
00:25:57:23 - 00:26:00:23
or worse off
from physical or spiritual pain.
00:26:01:14 - 00:26:04:05
Maybe healing
power price brings down relief,
00:26:05:09 - 00:26:08:09
but it's pretty cool.
00:26:09:11 - 00:26:11:21
The intention of Islamic to look like
00:26:11:21 - 00:26:14:21
my mother of Polish Catholic?
00:26:16:02 - 00:26:17:23
I believe in
00:26:17:23 - 00:26:21:23
my Lord Norman,
and I must say thank you to him.
00:26:22:09 - 00:26:28:08
I'm here today to work there He helped me to bear the pain, everything else.
00:26:29:22 - 00:26:32:09
the sidewalk goes down
and I mean, that's who hurt me.
00:26:32:09 - 00:26:35:09
And I mean, so who's happened
00:26:35:14 - 00:26:38:14
is so annoying me because
00:26:39:07 - 00:26:41:17
two years ago I still
00:26:41:17 - 00:26:44:17
and then suddenly hit, you know, like that
00:26:45:14 - 00:26:48:14
when you just gun
00:26:48:18 - 00:26:50:14
again as way
00:26:50:14 - 00:26:53:14
what happened the way on me
00:26:53:19 - 00:26:56:19
my mother
that's really I must, thanks to her,
00:26:57:05 - 00:27:00:05
to make me what I am.
00:27:00:12 - 00:27:01:16
to show me in your life.
00:27:01:16 - 00:27:03:01
It's not that easy.
00:27:03:01 - 00:27:04:21
And you got to really work hard.
00:27:04:21 - 00:27:08:20
And that was just a good of you going to America to be wise.
00:27:09:08 - 00:27:12:08
No, I mean, you're going to be ten times because they are.
00:27:12:11 - 00:27:16:05
Sometimes they look down at you because like in Asia, in
00:27:16:05 - 00:27:19:07
Shanghai, too,
they're looking at in of the white people.
00:27:19:07 - 00:27:21:17
You looking at Chinese people like no mean low.
00:27:25:17 - 00:27:28:03
I'm happy, you know, can have a can say nothing.
00:27:28:03 - 00:27:31:15
No, I did what I did where my mother, they made me.
00:27:31:20 - 00:27:34:03
I did, you know.
00:27:34:03 - 00:27:37:02
And this well,
who I should think you know me.
00:27:37:02 - 00:27:39:20
So I'm very proud of her
00:27:39:20 - 00:27:42:15
that she made me do to be good.
00:27:42:15 - 00:27:44:06
And I did good.
00:27:44:06 - 00:27:46:09
So that's all I can say?
00:27:46:09 - 00:27:47:17
No. But.
00:27:47:17 - 00:27:50:17
So I think your mom would be very proud.
00:27:50:18 - 00:27:53:02
Yeah. I hope
00:27:53:02 - 00:27:56:02
I grew like,
00:28:00:06 - 00:28:04:01
you know, I'm a girl.
00:28:04:01 - 00:28:06:04
And I mean, that's going to go right?
00:28:06:04 - 00:28:09:12
That I am from that place.
00:28:09:13 - 00:28:12:06
You know, when
00:28:12:06 - 00:28:15:18
I went to school, you can barely stay
00:28:17:03 - 00:28:18:10
with my kids.
00:28:18:10 - 00:28:21:10
I was really smart to be.
00:28:21:22 - 00:28:25:13
I adored being dressed in something really,
00:28:26:16 - 00:28:30:08
when my date comes to get me Well, thank you, everybody.
00:28:30:08 - 00:28:32:10
Just beautiful. It's just.
00:28:32:10 - 00:28:33:22
It's just perfect.
00:28:33:22 - 00:28:36:16
not only was this like a memorial
00:28:36:16 - 00:28:39:22
for lost friends,
but It's also a happy day.
00:28:41:07 - 00:28:44:07
Oh, thank you.
00:28:47:16 - 00:28:50:15
Hey, thank you.
00:28:52:16 - 00:28:55:16
Oh, join?
00:28:55:18 - 00:28:57:09
Yes, I remember.
00:28:57:09 - 00:29:00:20
Oh, you all drag you here?
00:29:01:15 - 00:29:04:01
Yeah, the museum wants to keep them.
00:29:04:01 - 00:29:04:22
Oh, how nice.
00:29:04:22 - 00:29:06:05
Oh, yeah. That's one. Yeah.
00:29:06:05 - 00:29:08:06
You open up from The Nutcracker. Yeah.
00:29:08:06 - 00:29:09:17
They saved it from this.
00:29:09:17 - 00:29:10:22
This is you here.
00:29:10:22 - 00:29:13:22
You're going to be known forever.
00:29:13:22 - 00:29:16:22
Yeah,
