In January 1941, Mauthausen and Gusen transformed into Category III Nazi concentration camps, signifying a grim fate: 'without return.' Every inmate sent to these camps faced inevitable death. Among the thousands who endured the horrors of Mauthausen was Agustin Santos, deportee number 5105, alongside over 7,000 other Spanish citizens.

Undeterred by the seemingly insurmountable odds, Agustin Santos and two fellow prisoners devised a daring escape plan, determined to defy the camp's relentless grip of despair. Prior to their attempt, no one had successfully fled Mauthausen alive. “5105, A Story of an Escape from Mauthausen” chronicles this harrowing tale of resilience and defiance in the face of unspeakable brutality.

As the narrative unfolds, the film sheds light on the untold stories of survival and resistance within the confines of Mauthausen, challenging audiences to confront the depths of human cruelty and the enduring power of hope in even the darkest of times.
