HOME - The Country of Illusion

View on the Pragda STREAM site

Lilia hasn't visited her birthplace, Colombia, in 40 years. After living in eight countries, she has settled in Portugal. Armed with a camera, her daughter Josephine wants to explore what home means to her mother.

The filmmaker's questions challenge Lilia to define her identity. As a nomadic character, she struggles to find peace with her own life and make sense of her decisions. The film portrays the life of an uprooted person, whose identity straddles multiple worlds in a country of illusion.

The film sparks a universal dialogue between mother and daughter about migration, roots, and a sense of belonging.
