Hafreiat

Under the heat of the sun at a Spanish archeological mission in northern Jordan, Abu Dya, a Palestinian Jordanian, digs the land for long hours. Salaries are low and the cost of living is rising. Abu Dya wants to provide a different life for his family, but a criminal record stymies his efforts. Hafreiat shows one man’s relationship with his family, the land and its laws, and questions the possibility of banishing the past in a society that seems opposed to reintegration.
