True Water Crimes: Greece – The Attack at Sea

Just before the Nordstream pipeline was blown up in 2022, a similar attack takes place in Greece. Unknown divers plant explosives and blow up the underwater pipeline from the mainland to the Greek island of Aegina. It is called a terrorist act. The residents of the Greek island depend on this pipeline for clean water. It’s not the first time the pipeline has been sabotages. Why would anyone want to sabotage this water pipeline?

Series Description

The four part series Water Crime delves into the dark world behind drought and links the global water shortage to a crime scene including a victim, an eyewitness, a suspect and a perpetrator. A dead man in the Mexican desert, a Spanish toddler’s fatal fall into a well, a rape in Nairobi and explosions of a pipeline near a Greek island. Each episode in Water Crime shows a different place in the world where water disappears and moral dilemmas arise.
